Perhaps, but then I wish they'd at least fix the angle--make them a bit more vertical. It's a little difference, but as it is, they make his face look more round, which I just find strange.

Man Tracks is smexy, maybe I should pre-order him (and not keep doing the say I'm gonna do so but never do).

 

I was messing around with the new hi-res images from amiami in Photoshop and think I might have spotted something of interest. If you zoom in tight on his right leg in both full body color images, you can see some yellow pixel bleed on the back (which is presumably the car hood). If my guess is right, it looks like they'll be going with a small version of toy flames. Or maybe I'm just crazy...but it is interesting that it's seen in both pictures.

 

Yeah I think that's exactly what we're seeing there - noticed it myself!  

Also, skunkobot pointed out - can you see what looks like a silver paint app bleeding round the edge of the part underneath the hood? What could that be - painted engine detail? Something related to some of the gadgets he has in the toon? Interesting!

 

Look, I'm totally getting this. But, I have to say his face sculpt is the weakest of any of the masterpieces past mp-08. I've pretty much been 100% happy with all head sculpts Takara has done, but to me this only looks slightly like the cartoon. The angle they're taking the pics at also emphasize that his head is not surrounded by blue as much as I feel it should be. I'm a little disappointed.

Still good. Still gonna buy it, but it's my least favorite MP.

Edit: Maybe the face just looks too long for me. Checked out a g1 screen shot, the form is right on...just seems stretched.

His face reminds me a lot of Bluestreak and Prowl's, i.e. spot-on.

Almost makes me want to pick up a Red Alert just so I can have Tracks joining him and Smokescreen in the S2 cars department. Almost.

 

Wow. These new pics make him look even better. For a character that I don't care about this is damn impressive so much that I am glad I pre-ordered.

 

No way this is being released in a box bigger than MP22, MP24 or MP10 boxes. BTW none of the other MPs in that site have package dimensions, just Tracks. It's obviously a mistake.

 

I think the lines are there on his face for the face swapping gimmick like BB with his battlemask. Also no third parties can make new heads cause they are all a pin that is almost impossible to take off. I think TT knew what was up.

With the way the face is set into the head, that seems unlikely--you'd probably be rubbing paint to swap it out. Seems more likely that's just how they chose to sculpt it.

Sucks about the pin thing (as you can likely tell, I don't collect the other MP cars). I seriously doubt there was any anti-3P reasoning behind that, though. Add-on kits don't hurt TT in anyway--they can only boost sales by encouraging people to buy things they otherwise wouldn't.

Just dont understand why some 'fans' go through great lengths/ trouble to sound too complicated when describing lame reasons why you don't like a particular toy. Just be grateful at all that TT decided to give us a new MP.

 

Hmm, the vertical lines actually look a bit more robotic, I like that too. TT won't change it at this point, but I like your version too.

 

Yeah, you're probably right. The Bumblebee change was in the prototype stage before there were even any test shots, right? Still a shame--a spot on, cartoon accurate face (either vertical facets, vertical lines, or no lines at all) would've pushed it over the line from just "bought" to "I can't wait for this thing" for me.

Again, by no means a deal breaker, though. I love Tracks too much to skip out on his MP.

a) you haven't even got the toy released and done in hand comparisons about MP-25's QC. REALLY?!

b) we get it already that you dont want it or dont like it, so dont complain further, please. it makes you look like you're bitter.
