G Gundam is pretty humorous so far. It's a nice way change of pace compared to the more serious UC Gundam I've watched recently. 13 episodes in so far.

I would buy the Blu-rays if they weren't the crappy 16:9 zoomed in junk funimation did. They need to release DBZ back in it's original 4:3 format.

I saw the Alessi Two Parter of Jojo's Bizzare Adventures and honestly I think this was the worst bit of episodes. The episode is just plain creepy in the bad way, did not like having to see young Polnareff in the nude.

The only part I liked was when
Young Jotaro beat the crap out of Alessi, even as a kid he's badass.

Also saw yesterday's new episode of DurararaX2. That was pretty good. I'm really looking forward to next weeks episode.

That two-parter represents the worst aspects of Stardust Crusaders for me.

Lots of toilet and gross out humor.
    Goes too bizarre for me,
like the lady turning into a FETUS
. All sorts of wrong there.
Heroes being stupid just to give the weak, cowardly, gimmicky, and gloating villain a fighting chance. Are we actually supposed to be scared of these guys?
And none of it had anything to do with finding Dio.

I was kind of glad when this season started and we find out only 9 stand users were left besides Dio. Maybe these last few guys are the big guns. But out of the 6 shown, only 2 were any sort of threat (Anubis and Geb). I don't have high hopes for the remaining 3.

That part didn't bother me all that much and honestly its like I'd rather go for the blu-rays over the DVDs since hulu only has a limited ammount of the series on there. Also the interviews have been pretty interesting to watch on the blu-rays too.

I'm probably going to be considered crazy but I also plan on buying Kai as well along with GT(please don't shoot me I know its crap but it is a bit nostalgic and hey i get to riff on it while watching). So then eventually I can do the mega marathon sessions of going through all of Dragon Ball -Dragon Ball GT and then watch all of Kai.

Also out of curiosity is the Persona 4 Golden anime worth a watch for fans of Persona and who enjoyed the original anime they did for the series?

Finished the last 3 episodes and 6-episode OVA of season 2 of Black Butler. (not bad, too bad I detest
    Alois Trancy
, what a a-hole. Voice cast is great though. Can't wait for Book of Circus (season 3) when it comes out)

Next up, it's either a re-watch of Str.A.In. - Strategic Armored Infantry or Code Geass (might as well toss R2 as well)...

There is however an improvement by the time of F91, the general populace and both factions really don't care about Newtypes, if you are one then cool, you can be a better pilot, but Oldtype/Newtype racism is essentially dead.
Except for that jerk soldier in, but guy was a jerk to Seabook about everything.

Honestly most of the Feds were insufferable... long live the Crossbone Vanguard!

    Answer me this!
The School of the Undefeated of the East!

Golden Animation is essentially a bonus disc, with all the new content of the PSP remake, so yeah, if you liked P4 in either the game or anime version it's worth a watch.

Then you better pray people stop buying them because the 16x9 releases outsell their original aspect ratio ones 10:1. Their original LEvel sets sold poorly to the point that Funimation couldn't justify the costs they were doing to remaster them. Even Toei was extremely happy with the remasters they were doing to the point that they approved each episode within 24 hours when they usually take about 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately, Funi did not even break even with the costs they spent to remaster them like that. However, they put out the cropped sets and they sold like hot cakes.

Kinda abridged, but good enough. :lol

Bingo, it does not retell the main story, just shows the new scenes.

The Level sets were coming out at a time when the market for Dragon Ball was severely over-saturated. The Dragon Boxes had just finished being released and Funimation announced the Levels merely a month after Dragon Box 7. To add to the madness, they were also in the midst of working on and releasing Kai as well as the fact that the Orange Brick sets were still in-stores.

Also, it has nothing to do with the fact that they're in 16:9. It merely comes down to the fact that they were much cheaper to produce and therefore much cheaper to sell. Compare with 1 Season Blu-Ray set with 39 episodes was cheaper than 2 Blu-Ray Level Sets which only ran up to 34 episodes (The remastering ran up to 39 episodes though) combined and being more expensive.

If the Level Sets were being released as the new season sets were, they would have more than likely sold just as well since there would be no competition with itself.

Since I stumbled upon the complete series on DVD at London Drugs yesterday I started to watch Cowboy Bebop.

This show is really good. I watched it years ago actually and really liked it. I'm happy to have it on DVD so I can watch it again and I think it's even better than I remembered.

Oh, and I'm also watching Sailor Moon Crystal. I haven't seen the latest episode yet though. There was a bit of a slump for a bit for me but it's picked back up now.

Hopefully you bought the recent release that Funimation put out, which is based on the blu-ray masters from Japan. The quality is god damn excellent.

If I do ultimately end up rewatching something, rather than starting something new, perhaps I'll rerererewatch Crest of the Stars & Banner of the Stars, followed by Banner of the Stars II. Don't think I've ever watched all 3 in order, despite getting Banner II on DVD a while back. All 3 tell very different stories, despite having the same main & secondary characters. Tons of character development changes things (as does war).

First saw Crest & Banner I on TechTV. Think I own close to half of what I saw on Anime Unleashed.

No, I sure did not. It was a DVD set I stumbled upon at the Canadian equivalent of Walgreens that I didn't even know was out. :lol

The visual quality really doesn't bug me one bit to be honest; it still looks fine to me. It's a good show and I have it on DVD, that's good enough for me. I'm not super picky in all honesty. I mean, I might check Amazon for the Bluray eventually but it's not currently a priority since I'm happy with my DVD set.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm waiting for Funimation's most recent release of .Hack//Sign to come in the mail. I'm super excited about that. That show is waaaaay up there on my list of favourites. I watched it when it was on YTV way back when and I've rewatched it several times since.

It skims over the stuff already covered in the P4 anime and is mostly focused on some new scenarios from P4G in between. It's kind of sloppily handled IMO. There should only have been one P4 anime, they should have waited until after Golden came out before adapting it into a series.

It doesn't detract from the fact that the cropped sets outsell their non-cropped ones. Until they can justify the cost of them, they can't commit to the original remastering job they were doing on the level sets.

And actually, it does. Based on their consumer feedback, their customers who were/are buying DBZ prefer it in 16x9.

I've started Trigun and wow 8 episodes in and I'm loving it.

Vash is hilarious and I just love Meryl and Milly. I'm mostly watched it subbed with the occasional dub episode. Masaya Onosaka is so funny as Vash.
