It's been raining all day today, and there's so much fog it's hard to see anything outside. Plus weather is calling for it to snow anywhere from 6" to 13". Gettin' really sick of this weather to be honest haha

Yeah, I know, but seriously, it's been happening since November, so it shouldn't be a shock, plus more parents/families have vacation plans in the summer right after school gets out... so either way I believe there's got to be some give and take, folks plans will be changed either earlier or later. Kids had their winter break just b4 Xmas... and been out a lot since then, they need to make it up... of course, seems like it's time for them to continue assignments via the net anyway.... at least they wouldn't get so far behind.
There are several systems discussing adding the days back in during Spring Break... which frankly didn't exist until this last generation... so we know it won't kill the kids if they go to school until May/June. :D
I think most regions here have at least 8 -10 days to make up... maybe more in the harder hit areas... still it is just a sucky winter and dilemma either way.

Snap, now they're taking more like the 6" of sleet first, then snow for my area.... this is so unusual for TN.... today it was 67*, atm, still 63.... then by Thurs. a.m.... 20's.
Back to 50's by the weekend? Really? :lol

It rained so much water managed to leak into my room. Around my vinyl, and computer stuff too. Luckily nothing was damaged. We think we found where it was coming in from, and put towels around the area to soak up the water, so hopefully it won't leak in anymore, cuz it's gonna be raining the rest of the night...

It was pretty warm here today. Got all the way up to 42F.

I'd rather be here than in Texas if there's freezing rain. Our houses are insulated against that kind of cold and (most of the) drivers around here know to creep along on the ice. It's much easier to power your way out of a slide than it is to brake out of one.

Did you have a lot of ice/snow on the roof first, then it melted with the rain???
We found out about 'ice dams' here, makes the water back up under the shingles, tiles, etc... and the water will go somewhere, usually in the person's home.... lots of damaged houses in my area once the snow and ice finally started to melt.

Sometimes the insurance won't cover the roof repair but will cover water damage... stupid, lots of people complaining, but that's what I've been hearing about this stuff so far. All you can do is try to keep the damage as minimal as possible, until you can get someone to take a look.

Watching the news now, we got 1-2" of sleet/ice on the way, then 4" of snow... I hate, hate, hate this winter. Grrrr.
Just hoping we don't lose power....

As a Finn, I will never understand all this freaking out over snow and ice.

I'd still ride my bicycle through that shit.

Tell me about it. I don't know when the snow is supposed to stop but at least school is closed after having a two hour delay yesterday.

My area wound up with 6-8", depending on if you're on the east or west side of the county.

Some snow drifts were between 1-2 ft high tho... they wound up closing parts of I24 and I65 in Kentucky today, down to the TN line.
Hundreds of people stuck on the interstates for up to 12 hours, they called in the National Guard for help too... yikes.

We're looking at 40s and 50s if we can just withstand these next 2.

    3 storms this week. Great.

Tbh, I don't even mind the snow any longer. The ICE, I cannot fucking stand the ICE! Had 2 ice storms this week.

I still blame Al Gore. If that fucker just kept his mouth shut, none of this would have happened.

    Hah!

If only it was that easy to explain...if only.

The ice is a real pain in the ass and I'm so sick and tired of it. At least with snow you can gain some traction, but ice? Even with our AWD SUV, hit the right patch and you're going skating.
