Too bad that Scott/Barber interview already spoiled that
we'll end up with Scoop stealing the MacGuffin of Combination for Starscream
. Still unsure why they need it, since Superion combined just fine on his own before, as did Menasor but I guess retcons are retcons.

I'm liking Blackrock and Arcee's irreverent and laid back demeanor. It's a nicely balances Prowl's whole... prowlness.

Superion is barely sapient and possibly insane. Menasor doesn't HAVE a mind, all 5 stunticons remain individual after combining. Monstructor IS completely insane. We've got 4 combiners and only one works and he was created by someone who used to work for Jhiaxus and probably expanded upon his failures. And he's dead. Yeah, I think the enigma might be useful for creating a functional combiner.

Additionally, the signal that caused Superion's combination is gone, the bits needed to control it are bye-bye (no Ore-13 body to direct it, obviously), and it seemed very finicky- if there's more than the minimum number of bots present that seems enough to resist it. Also there's no guarantee of bots not killing each other before the final step. All to get a very single-minded combiner.

And that's the second best attempt.

The Menasor method likely can be repeated, but it kinda sucks. It's tremendously vulnerable to even the most basic psychological warfare. It was hesitating in combat because it couldn't agree on how to kill a bot that all members wanted to kill!

Heck, bringing the Engima to Menasor to upgrade it into a mental gestalt would probably help a lot.

Also, don't forget that Powerglide and Alpha Bravo offered to replace Slingshot as parts of Superion, and they need a way to combine.

Plus, they can also write in other new characters such as Rook or Offroad.

#39 is the end I believe?

Looking good, has Galvatron always been drawn like a retool of Leader Megatron? I only just noticed, maybe because I now own the toy. Last page made me lol.

No, only since he's "working with" EDC and reformatted.
I hope we don't get a toy of THIS body. I hate that look. It's OK for the story line. But I really DON'T want that look as a toy. I want a Galvatron that could be the Galvatron from the comics but also the Galvatron from the cartoon. And that would be the previous, purple body. Also he needs to be voyager. As my Megatron and Optimus are Voyagers.

    Looking good so far.

And yeah, Galvatron is begging to be a retool of the current Leader Megatron figure.

While I can see Galvartron getting a toy retooled out of CW Megatron, I don't think it's something that was intended by whichever IDW artist designed Galvatron's current body. For starters, I doubt they would've made him so white, since CW Megatron already is white. Plus, while I can see them making his legs less skinny in the comics, since the toy's legs look ridiculous, I doubt they would've given him such a large chest, since that isn't something toy can have, nor is it something that effects the proportions.

I guess we now know how Thundercracker will also end up getting his leader class body as well (the ole 'severely damaged while saving the world' schtick).

well... yes. literally. this is the last issue before Combiner Wars starts

(although this arc was basically one big lead up to Combiner Wars anyway so that's all up to your interpretation of "done," but I'm assuming we wont be revisiting Earth after this)

Say what? The book's definitely sticking on Earth, Barber's confirmed as such. Taking away the Enigama won't resolve a lot of the plotlines going on there.

Can't wait to see Thundercracker remind everyone how badass he is by slaughtering the Clonehead army.
