So I bought the Artstorm Unicron Head / Bust (Art Storm EX-GOHKIN Plus Series Transformers Unicron Head - Toy Dojo) and had it for about a week now. Myself and several friends have tried to insert the horns, but to no avail.

The horns are made of VERY thick plastic. This cannot be stressed enough. VERY thick/strong unmalleable plastic. I've been unable to sufficiently heat the end of the horn with a blow dryer, and I'm not going to boil the horn as the paint is already flaking off the main head thanks to all the hefty pushing effort of trying to get the !@#$ horns in.

I'm about ready to start cutting the thing with wire cutters or a small hand saw. Any other suggestions on how to get those horns in the holes before I take this plastic/cutting unrecoverable route?

Also, due to this issue, I can't suggest anyone else buy this thing. It is not made properly IMHO. For the price, things should fit properly, and that paint should NOT be flaking off so easily.

i'm not at all familiar with this, so i don't know how the horns connect.. but couldn't you sand something, so that it fits in?

You know I was so focused on the horns themselves I hadn't thought about sanding out the holes a bit more. Gonna grab my dremel and give that a go. Thanks for the idea!

Pictures of the problem area would really help, as very few own this piece

Here's some pictures. I'm finding paint flaking off everywhere now. On the chin, on the horns, on the area where the horns go (though I'm pretty sure I rubbed that off). This is a horrible piece. I have transformers I painted years ago, that I transformed multiple times, that still have all their paint on them. I'm afraid to look at this thing right now for fear of more paint falling off it.

End of the day, it's not manufactured properly. I measured the cut in the head is about .5 of an inch too small for the horn to fit.

I'm not sure how apparent it is, but that 2nd spot out of the three spots on the chin area isn't even a flake. It's a plastic divot where the plastic did not fill out properly. The paint did not fill / paint on there properly either.

I don't think they sealed the paint at all. It's coming off way to easily. Found more spots on the horns now. :(

that's a shame that there are that many quality control problems.. when done right, and in a few photo's, this thing looks gorgeous.

thanks for the heads up though.

Wow. Mine had none of the problems you describe.

Given its polyvinyl construction, I knew a hair dryer would be required to soften up the plastic a little... about thirty seconds on the horn, thirty seconds on the hole, a little force in a clockwise manner, and I managed to get them in without incident. The plastic becomes quite malleable with enough heat.

I would expect the paint to scratch around the hole, but the horns completely conceal it, of course...

The right eyepiece was a slightly awkward fit, so I also heated it up a little before installing it. Looks good to me now.

No paint flaking on the chin, either.

That is a shame about its paint quality but for those of us who would want to customize this and paint more detail our only real worry is problems with the mold. Though I can imagine how frustrating it is for those who receive poor quality control product yet pay the same money as others who get perfection. Very unfair indeed and a waste of time when having to return to distributers for exchange/return due to satisfaction not being met. Either way I want mine, but if it is of poor paint quality how much cheaper could I get it for if FEWTURE was to honour us by accepting they did not provide us 10/10 quality.

Hmmm......this was on my radar and there's not too many reviews at the moment. Thanks for your input and feedback guys. Unfortunately, lemons will always exist and hopefully that's what you got and does not signal that all of these have the same poor QC. Damn, so it sounds like putting on the horns and even swapping the eyes requires some additional work. Can you guys comment on the weight of the head.

It has just arrived in a Fortress Max 2piece box from ROBOTKINGDOM it took less than a week to come from Asia to Queensland AUSTRALIA and with tracking I knew every process it went through. I saved at least 300ausd and now have it where the competitor has not answered my emails and still do not have in stock.:rock

This was assembled in a minute and has no flaws of any kind. I chose not shattered eyes option and did not need to apply heat to anything. Even wife has shown much interest in it where usually nothing of this hobby does. For scale purposes there is a generations Galvatron in pic. It adds to display of transformers collection in a great way being unique in its size.

I want one of these, but I don't know if I can justify the shipping cost to the UK!

I began sanding down the inside where the horns go and still cannot get them in. Hopefully it's just mine. Keep an eye out on the paint and let us know if you see any issues. Weeks later and I still do not have this assembled. :(

I just warmed up and softened around the holes before firmly screwing in each horn at a time. It's best to have the head on a couch or some place soft so It doesn't scratch or rub off paint.

I don't think mine was cut right. There's no way it's even going to fit on the grooved section of the horns right now. Three people have tried, at least one with decent muscle mass, and none were able to get the horns in.

We definitely rubbed the paint off around the horn while trying to insert, but not sure how the paint flaked off in other areas, especially on the tip if the horns. The tip of the chin jus wasn't formed/filled properly which is another manufacturing problem.

Toydojo is going to exchange it for me, so hoping the next one will be better quality.
