I've spent $50 I think. I bought the 750 coin welcome pack on day one and got Springer and Roadbuster, been grinding through for all the other bots. I did get drunk and bought nacelle but I never needed him. Games like this I know I play for awhile I'll spend $50-$60 in the beginning to get a good package instead of slowly get nickle and dimed.

 

House of Pain now open if you meet the tier, but i will not be as active next few days...

 

When you fight bot teams,I you fight any team that says chance to get exclusive cores,you have a chance to get them.

 

Anyone who pays money for these games is a fool, I've reached the rank of 175 without spending a dime. All this transformers game is a new skin over super battle tactics, and you spent money equal to a console game

 

What is house of pain? I don't see any events

 

Well I spent money to save myself time and its what I choose to do. I'm an avid gamer and I've already spent more time playing this than I have dying light. But I have a heavy work week and a family. Spending a little money makes it easier to balance all the things I love in my life. The money I spent is why I haven't been able to order a few extra transformers and I'm okay with that.

 

I guess if it saved you time it might be worth it, but with a mobile game like this you can play it anywhere, even have it open while you work, you can level up fast with this game, don't spend money and you will enjoy if longer

Right now I run sky shadow, astrotrain, scourge, and darkmount but when the bot team has less than 2 SR, I run the speedsters instead (skids, blur, runabout, and drift) since they give extra tier points (100).

I do bots all the time except for advancing and I have a lot of resources. My limiter have been the named cores and rank. Just kicked off jetfire 2 and am 1 core short for TC. Next rank is blitzwing for me and I should be able to build 2 back to back. I also have 5+ brainstorm and springer cores for when I get there.

Cyber coins also tend to be an issue. I will probably be able to have jetfire 2, 2 blitzwings, and a SR thundercracker by the end of next week, but maxing their level will also probably clean out my cash.

 

I love how people bitch about how other people spend their money. The guy's name is a great indicator about what kinda person he is. Tool indeed. Not everyone can "have it open" or play throughout the day when they have an actual job that requires attention to be paid to the task at hand. People need to think before they speak. $50 ain't even that much. If you look at Puzzle and Dragon players, a lot of them easily spend hundreds.

Don't know anything about puzzle and dragons but I've seen people spend mad money on TF Legends. Man did that game nickle and dime me. As for others opinions I don't worry about it. I'm in a league with a bunch of guys from here, we're all enjoying the game just waiting to rock out an event!

 

I'm feel like starting a league if anyone wants in. Once I know we got 4 players, I will start one. I started a league, TFW2005 Stunticons.

 

Well I can't speak to the original commentator, nor do I like to judge others life choices with little info.

That said, let's not pretend that these games are intentionally build like a lottery or casino. While some may judiciously or appropriately spend money, there is a point that dumping money in can become a pretty objective bad decision. [Edit - my point is that the same argument should not make compulsive gamblers blameless]

I have not thrown in any money yet. When an even comes up if they aren't time grinds like TF Legends or GI Joe Battleground, maybe I'll throw them some money. For no other reason than if I'm enjoying my time, I like to reward developers with at least a little cash. (But not whale level)

Back to resources - based on all the feedback I did some research and without spending any money, playing when my 5 cubes are ready, starting close to the US release, and sticking with bots other than advancement - here's what my resources look like.

• Gold 256 (~500 lifetime, spent 150 on a resource pack and on 1-2 cubes [edit: and speeding some recruiting])
• Exclusive cores - 320 lifetime (current 50)
• Blitzwing - 11
• Brainstorm - 7
• Jetfire 2 - 0 (lifetime 5, currently building)
• Springer - 7
• Thundercracker - 5
• Armada megs - 2
• Baracade - 3
• Chromedome - 1
• Sunstorm - 2
• Acidstorm - 0
• Skywarp - 1
• Slipstream - 1
• Power cores - 61 (probably at least 80-100 lifetime so far)

That of course doesn't include the Scout, Hunter, etc... cores that are easier to get and you burn through for the level 3+ recruitment.

At the bottom of the bot fight, it tells you what cores can potentially drop in that fight. Here are my observations:

• Hunter/Scout/Etc... cores can drop from lvl 2-4. Higher the rank, better chance of one dropping
• Each character that can drop Hunter/Scout/Etc... cores has a specific one tied to them (i.e. Blitzwing drops Hunter Cores)
• Named cores only drop from their specific character and are the "rare drop" for that kind of kill
• Exclusive cores can drop from any lvl 3 or up, again higher level seems to mean better chance
• Whirl seems to drop exclusive cores and an unusually higher rate than his other lvl 3 peers (at least for me)
