Picked up Dragstrip!

If the other limbs are as straight forward to transform as this guy I'm all in for Combiner Wars. This guy is just plain fun to mess with, which is something I didn't experience for the past couple of lines.
I especially like the numerous ports on his body to place his weapons  

 

No, his ellbow has an extra cut built in to allow his arms 90 degrees of articulation. Its a really nice touch.

 

Ah, I feel kinda stupid now. Though a 90 degree bend still feels a little awkward to me for a sword wielder, but eh.

Anyways, loving Alpha Bravo so far. Can't wait till his fellow Aerialbots arrive.

If I could make a request for when you get these guys opened- could we get a picture of Menasor with the alternate fanmode hips and shoulders that some people have done with Prime?

I really wasn't planning on getting any of these. But those images are incredible. I live in an area of the country where we don't get anything new until about 4 weeks after most people. That being said, I think I'm going to jump on these. Awesome. Entirely awesome.

 

For neekotron   finally took the plunge as you can see the ball jointed wings fold nicely behind him. need some space shuttle thrusters and some alcohol for cleanup but space shuttle blast off is on the way

 

Which issues of the comics are included with those guys? Since the Combiner Wars arc hasn't started yet, it'd be interesting if this was the first chance to see those issues.

 

You absolutely should, you won't regret it. I wasn't planning on getting any of these either. I've been disappointed with the last couple waves of Generations figures and when I first heard about Combiner Wars I felt that it was pandering too hard to the G1 crowd. However, the photos are really what turned me around. So far I've only been able to find Drag Strip, Firefly, and Alpha Bravo but I really love all 3 of them. Especially Alpha Bravo, who I was expecting to like the least.

Hasbro might have hired some new designers because these figures have a completely different feel than some of the recent Generations figures. They feel more solidly constructed and are just the right amount of chunky/blocky to harken back to G1 but still retain a modern feel. I also like how the transformations are simplified yet the figures are still highly detailed with a wide range of articulation. The aesthetic designs of these figures seem better to me as well. The proportions are better and the head sculpts in particular look really cool.

These are easily my favorite figures since the initial series of Generations figures between 2010-2011.
