Rest in peace, Mr. Leonard Nimoy...you were my fave character in the Star Trek series and your 'voice' for G1 Galvatron is my definitive voice for the character.
Very sad news. He seemed like not only a gifted actor and director, but a great human being overall. Maybe I'm dating myself when I say this, but we just don't seem to get people like him in Hollywood anymore. He will be truly missed. Live long and prosper.
this sucks. I've been sitting on a custom V1 Mania King/Galvatron project for the better part of a year, had no zeal to finish it. Then suddenly, for no reason, about a day or two ago, I finish it up. Didn't even know he was sick so its not like he was even on my mind, just felt the urge to finish it sooner then later. I'm at work today and hear the news in the break room...and felt really weird about the whole thing. I'm going to greatly miss Mr Nimoy and I really hope his family is doing alright. He's been a constant presence in just about every genre of entertainment I enjoy since childhood. I'm off to watch just about every movie he's ever been in while acting like I'm not sad about this...Men don't cry and stuff.
There will never be another man like him. His most famous character, Spock, is a cultural icon, globally. Everyone knows the Vulcan salute. Everyone knows "Live long and prosper." Everyone knows that being logical is akin to being like Mr. Spock. But it was Leonard Nimoy who gave that character life. Truly the end of an era...
Me too. Spock was my favourite and there were a lot of things about Nimoy as a person that were very admirable. Really upset.
Now we can also let his G1 character Galvatron rust in peace... ...for we need to abandon all our hopes for it's Masterpiece. Kidding aside, condolences to all of us fans of another great actor.
There are really few celebrities' deaths that make me feel sad. I know I cried when Michael Jackson died and it makes me still sad. And seeing the photograph of Leonard Nimoy and thinking we'll never see or hear anything of him again, makes me sad as well. The past few years and recently after his death I read some things about him, that showed me, he was also a great man. I kind of feel bad for smoking while I write these lines
Damn.... Go figure the character that showed the least emotion was the heart of the Star Trek franchise. RIP MR. Nimoy. You will be missed.
