I stopped collecting between 2005 and 2007. In that time I missed the first waves of Classics. I eventually got them mostly from Ebay, but it was a lot more expensive than it would have been at retail.

My #1 regret is the HFTD leader class starscream. Saw it at TJ Maxx for like $20 a few years ago and passed on it. Dumbest collecting decision I've ever made. :)  I eventually got one, but it cost a heck of a lot more than $20.

Another big regret at the moment is not buying MP Acid Storm when it was out. I'm not a fan of the figure, personally, but my son has discovered it online and it is #1 on his want list. Hoping I can find one on ebay for a decent price sometime between now and Christmas.

Back in 2008 I wasn't collecting Transformers but I saw Classics Starscream & bought it out of curiosity. Next to it was the Magnus/Skywarp 2 pack for £15 but I didn't care for a white Prime (still don't). Seeing how much it was going for when City Commander came out was a kicker.

Almost all of HA at 18$ at my local TJ Maxx a couple years back. I got a Barricade, but they had every other one. Even Mudflap and Shadow Sideswipe! They also had a leader starscream, but I passd and the next day when I went back for it it was gone. I thought 30$ was high, but boy was I wrong. They also had the golden BB with chromed legends BB set for 40$ and I didn't pick that up either.

My wife got me Roddy when he was first in stores. Nothing broken in all the years and multiple transformations. They improved him a lot from what I've seen of the Takara version. Definitely worth picking up if you can find him.

TF Cybertron Leader Class Galvatron. I probably stopped by misc. TRUs a dozen times, and just stared at it on the shelves. In my mind, I was hoping that it would eventually get marked down in the future. (hehe, silly me) I wasn't into the Cybertron show, but I really dug Galv as a batmobile in G1 Megatron colors. Several years later, I would end up buying it from another forum member for over a hundred dollars.

    Also, Cybertron Primus.

Human Alliance Barricade. Saw him for $25 at Walmart around the time the ROTF film rolled around but I wasn't into collecting Transformers toys. Wasn't too long before I got bitten by the collecting bug but HA Barry had risen to around $70-$100 USD. Ended up getting him for around $80. Ya win some, ya lose some. I lost the game that time. :lol

I saw a nisb quakewave at a Transformers convention for $150 and I didn't get it because I didn't like his feet. After getting soar, I now wish I had gotten quakewave when it was still affordable.

Back when I was a kid, I passed on a Diaclone Browning at a flea market because I thought it was just a crappy knockoff of Megatron. And I didn't even know how to transform it.

Right now I don't regret anything. I once regretted not getting Henkei Convoy. But that lead me to getting Cloud Optimus and I like him much more :)

Right now, I got all the best versions of every mold that I ever really wanted. Feels so good. Everything else I don't have was a 'maybe' from the get go and therefore not bad that I don't have'm.

Collecting is like Poker. But often waiting pays off.

    MP-10a (MP Bape)

E-Hobby Astrotrain when he was instock. Still ended up getting him.

The original red window Classics Nemesis Prime. I chose the blue one instead, doh! Have the Tokyo Toy one now.

Change Galaxy Kabaya LeoBreaker, forgot to bid on him.

So many figures. I let my ex talk me into thinking the hobby was silly and childish and parted with my entire collection. I didn't start collecting again until AoE came out and I saw the new dinobots and decided, you know what, I still love transfomers, I'm going to start collecting again. The last time I was collecting was Energon, and I had both it and the entire armada line and all the alternators.

So yeah, I regret not getting all the awesome figures that have come the last 7 years or so. I regret hasbro soundwave, quakewave, revenge of the fallen optimus and sentinel prime, all the other MPs that came out at more reasonable prices. I'll eventually right all those errors, but it'll take a while, and I'll be paying "interest"

I was in the same boat, sold off my G1 collection in 2004 and never looked back. Fast forward ten years later and I'm pulled right back in. I have most of the figures I want but ROTF leader Prime I never had. Also the Skywarp/Magnus two pack which sells for a lot in the secondary market.

There are several transformers I missed out on, mainly because I could never find them. However given the nature of your question I'm going to assume you meant figures I've actually seen in stores but for whatever reason I didn't buy and later regretted it. That's still a pretty long list of figures though.

    (Original versions unless otherwise specified)

    10th Anniversary Rhinox

10th Anniversary, Classics, and TM2 Dinobot (Actually had the original Dinobot but lost it.)

    10th Anniversary Cheetor

    10th Anniversary TM2 Rattrap

    Tigerhawk

    Tigatron

    Airazor

    Depth Charge

    Scorponok

    Terrorsaur

    10th Anniversary and TM Tarantulas

    TM2 Blackarachnia

    Inferno

    Quickstrike

    Rampage

    10th Anniversary Waspinator

Having Generations Rattrap and Waspinator really makes up for never having the originals but I included all the 10th Anniversary figures mainly so that I could actually have a Transmutate. The only character from the show I didn't include and didn't actually own at some point is the original Blackarachnia because that figure is so bad if you flip up the head on Tarantulus you basically have her figure anyway.

    From Titanium

All of the War Within figures... except the Fallen who I actually do own.

The only other figures I regret now having I either actually owned at some point and lost or have never seen which I don't think fits the criteria of your thread.

Still regret not picking up loads of Takara E-Hobby G1 figures all those years ago when they were first released, Anime Astrotrain for around £40, Hauler/Sunstorm for around £70.

I should've got more Takara reissues too, and I could've picked up the anime Starscream for £20 in a local toy shop at one point, but having upside-down decepticon logos on the wings always put me off.
