Got super lucky tonight. Stopped at Woodfield Target, saw they had some CW legends, but only Windcharger and Thundercracker on the shelf. I was also there to check out clearance Lego, and while browsing, I noticed a lone Transformer sitting on a Lego shelf. CW Powerglide! I've been searching for him forever, what are the chances? I've noticed the Legends starting to show up in more places, I think we'll be seeing more of them soon.

how do you like them?

I'm not that big a fan of the mold just coming off of pictures we've seen so far.

 

My honest opinion is over hyped. From a quick glance Megatron looks good, but the proportions make him feel smushed. His head is too big, and the shoulders make him look off. The torso could be a bit wider and it would make a huge difference. The armada version is better imo just cause you don't find yourself looking so much for the G1 feel. Don't get me wrong they are both really nice, just over hyped like Jetfire was.

 

Im glad for things such as Takara MP Line and 3rd Party. Sadly I think they days of Transformers, GI Joe and Star Wars to an extent as we know and love them are coming to an end at least in the level and style us adult collectors desire.

Sure we might get a few nice items here or there domestically but times are changing my fellow fans. And I mean this from a walk into TRU, Target, etc perspective. Sure there is amazing stuff from Sideshow, Hot Toys, etc but not like the items back in the day when you walked into your local store and could shop for hours.

Kids these days....companies these days....yikes, Im getting old.

 

Just found and bought the cw megs and armada megs @ the algonquin tru right now! The price is ringing up @ $44.99 each and they only had 1 of each. Great thing about owning your own company is that you can toy hunt anytime you want without having to worry about the boss man because you are THE BOSS MAN, hahahahahahahaha! Good hunting folks!

 

Looks like you, Col, and I are all in this Randall Road area. I was just at that TRU yesterday.

 

Found a Rescue Bots Salvage yesterday at the HIP Target

 

One armada megs left in orland toys r us I bought the other one. Also a few cw limbs left there also

 

So was I! Not too bothered about missing Megatron, but stopped to check last night just for the heck of it.

 

I usually don't check the Algonquin TRU but my gut was telling me to just give them a call this morning and see if they got the 2 megatron figs in. The lady who picked up the phone was pretty clueless until I told her the price point and that the package should scream Megatron on it. I always haunt the the Schaumburg and Bloomingdale TRU but I assumed that collectors or scalpers already got their teeth into the figs there.

My initial impressions of the Megatron bros are "about damn time that Megs got some modern Hasbro lovin!" I think the shoulder joints are a little weird being thin red rods that just jut out from the chest area but that is the only gripe I have about the 2 bros!! The paint, sculpt, height, width, and overall shelf presence is nice! I had my doubts about the Combiner Wars after I begrudgingly bought OP but Superion and the Megs Bros have renewed my excitement and anticipation for Menasor, Devastator, Defensor, etc!! Happy hunting fellas!

Forgot to mention, Megs includes a small sticker sheet with Decepticon and Autobot stickers. Ain't no way in hell I am going to put a stinkin Autobot sticker on the OG leader of the bad guys!!

 

Found both Leader Megatrons at TRU on Butterfield, around noon today. Overall, quite cool, LOVE the real working rubber treads, but did not know they were 4 treads instead of 2. No big deal. And the legs are a lityle too long, too.

The big deal is the awful, rubbery shoulder and hip ratchets, yikes. Anyone else have them? Just a lot of monkey-motion between clicks. Fixed it by removing the ratchet pawls and tightening the joints. Smooth friction joints are the way to go.

I also wish there were some more differences between the two other than paint, but they are still pretty great. And the G1 version has a gorgeous bright silver paintjob, wow. Happy!

 

The Woodfield/Schaumburg TRU had one Armada Megs and one normal Megs. Unfortunately for me, both were grabbed right as I walked into the store. I really hope the restock is soon. It's going to drive me nuts if it's going to be just one case per store for the coming weeks. I have it on pre-order at BBTS, but I'm worried that it might not be in stock for awhile (even though they say FEB.).

 

Per the Indiana thread Brainstorm is popping up at TJ MAXX.

 

Funny how he is showing up at discount retailers when I have NEVER personally seen him at any regular retailers like walmart or target! I am guessing Brainstorm will be a 1 and done voyager head master since Hasbro is concentrating on CW and RID now?

 

Brainstorm had the luxury of getting a retail release as the last of a line and during the holiday season. That's a double negative! I was lucky enough to get one at HTS and I actually saw 1 at Walmart 1 time in that week between Christmas & New Year.

 

I never saw chromia or arcee either so was forced to order both from bbts last month. Never got into headmasters so no skin off my teeth on skipping brainstorm.
