This is a "satire" of grim and gritty in the same way Drift: Empire of Stone is.  

 

I thought this was fun to watch. Over the top and gritty works since its only a fan film. Besides this is the first time we seen anything for Zack since he left the show and although its all fan made it would be hilarious if thats what actually happened to him. My only complaints was Jason went out like a bitch and the Green Ranger dragon shield being a hologram is too much. But the was INTENSE!

 

I dunno. I'm just thinking of his venom fan film (10 times better than this) and how well and intelligently it was crafted and it just doesn't feel like he would make a PR fan film like this on purpose.

I didn't read the comic because I don't like reading poopoo so I didn't get the joke so to make it less awkward I'm gonna say I got the joke and put a laughing face in agreement.

Fun little whatever-it-is, but still no amount of dark & grittyifying can ever make Power Ranges cool.

 

*cough* Lost Galaxy and Lightspeed rescue with God tier Supertrain Megazord *cough*

 

Venom was good, but nobody's perfect. (and Venom was really only good because of the dude playing Eddie)

I wanna see the full render of the megazord in this. That shot looked pretty cool.

 

I liked it. I saw earlier today and I enjoyed watching it. It was silly, kinda dumb, and even weird, but I liked it for that. I'd be okay if they made another.

The scene with the Black Ranger shooting his gun into the air was dumb, but I loved it for how dumb it was.

...But if all those guys were on the ground, who was driving the Megazord?

Also, where IS Zordon?!

Also also, loved the scene where like three guys killed themselves due to well built spandex suits.

I'm sorry but Power Rangers is something I can't see working as gritty. I barely take it serious as it is.

How can you be a Transformers fan and not find those designs at least cool? (and no this isn't 'TRUE FAN' shit, but Power Rangers used to have genuinely awesome robot designs)

I didn't pick up any irony or tongue-in-cheek at all from this. Pretty sure they meant to play this straight. If they didn't, the video itself doesn't convey this clearly.

Wow.
This was just nuts.

 

Parts of this are impressive; all the stuff with the touch screen walls, very much reminded me of Deus Ex: HR and the punch up between Van Der Beek and "Tommy" was pretty well put together - it wasn't The Raid but I've seen worse.

That said, grim and gritty just doesn't jive with the Power Rangers - taking out the cheesy, cartoonish appeal just drains it of all it's charm and colour. If this was just some kind of portfolio piece, I'd be impressed.
