Yes, but it doesn't matter, the one consistency between almost every rumor ever is that takara has several characters already pretty much finished. Hasui could have easily done this guy before he left.

 

That's what was said in interviews yes. But you never know how many figs are already designed/prototyped at any point. Maybe Hasui was on a roll and knocked out loads of car bots which are just waiting on licencing and release schedule? I guess we wont know for sure unless it's given away in a future interview.

Tracks definitely looks to have a certain complexity about him which I'm sure has some people thinking OMG MP-9 it's Kobayashi, but it could be just that is what is required for the transformation and good aesthetics/proportions and toon accuracy.

Tail fins - it was Hasui
No tail fins - it was Kobayashi

   

 

I'm a bit curious as to why he chose the wheels to face away from us rather than toward. It was not only in the animation model but the toy as well. I suppose it's to give more form to the calves?

Not nit-picking, just an observation.

 

Animation model kinda has them less prominent and more on the sides with a visible band of blue in front of them - not jutting out the front like the toy. Flipping them to the back kinda invokes that look. I like it. Definitely would look worse and less like the animation if the were not flipped, imho.

 

Yea, that new picture is so much better. Doesn't make him look anorexic or feminine at all to me. Finely more excited about both him and road rage.

 

I was hoping for Jazz or Ironhide, but this looks like the best Tracks yet, if you wanted one.

 

I see. Taking that into account, what are the chances of the flame patterns peaking out from the panels flipping over his shins?



Hm... Yes, definitely see the blue beam you mentioned. I also see a groove below the tire that implies where the top of the car is.

Nevertheless I'm excited for Tracks, even more so for Road Rage. Here's to hoping the figure will look better without the questionable photoshop the magazine provides us with. (They've made the gaps look worse than they actually are in the waist area.)

Color those foot shaped depressions in his lower shins blue, and add a white/red square just below the knee, and you've got yourself an mp tracks.

I can't believe how good this looks!! Tracks was always the coolest-looking car bot to me, and it's so awesome to see him get such a great figure.

Anyone else really want MP omnibots now? Pseudo third modes FTW!

 

Something worth noting here: Because of the way he transforms, Tracks' flame decal on his hood will have to be small, instead of dominating his hood. Not as small as an insignia, but since the edges of the car flip around, having the decal so large that it overlaps onto those pieces will break the decal up and make for some weird yellow-red stripes on the edge of the outside of his legs.

 

He has the same side transformation as BB but I hope it sits more flush than the new pic shows.

 

Can't be worse than Sideswipe's arm transformation where the side of the car looks like a jacked up puzzle piece.

 

I understand why Tracks ended up a tad slimmer than normal. The Corvette isn't a particularly beefy car so it really comes to no surprise that a bit of the robot's thickness was sacrificed due to the alt mode.

The cartoon made him chunkier than he would be and we've already covered the animation's questionable quality when comparing details in accuracy. Despite this, I can still look at this figure and call him Tracks.

 

I don't think it will be that small, they could probably pull off a cartoon accurate size and still have it be covered up in bot mod.
