LOVE IT!!!!

Can't wait to have it. I love this Menasor for all the reasons you all hate it. I love the fact that the designers are giving the combiners archetype body types, like making Menasor look more hulkish than his previous versions. I always wondered why all combiners always ended up with some streamlined and humanoid combined forms (especially the Terrorcons who form a character named ABOMINUS yet he still looked slick and sexy like a Voltron) instead of having fun with the namesake of the character by giving him a physicality that compliments said name. I dig all of it, it shows they're taking risks while still listening to the fans, 'cause let's face it, if you think Hasbro is giving us Combiner Wars for any other reason than for peace and quiet from all the haters then you're sadly mistaken.

Another noteworthy attribute this combiner has versus all the 3rd party poop everyone loves to compare him to is PLAYABILITY!!! This Menasor looks like you can really play with it, and even if all you wanna do is shove it in a display case, he still looks like a sturdy, rugged figure, which is not a general consensus when it comes to third party combiners. Yes, 3rd party is for adult collectors while Hasbro caters to children, so why not keep that in mind when making your comparisons?

All that being said I certainly hope a CW Abominus isn't that far away.

 

Still looks goofy and awkward, unlike superion who ended up looking halfway decent.

 

You know, as much as I love Intimidator, I'm really glad people love the Hasbro version. There's nothing wrong with it and glad to see people excited about it. This Menasor is just not for me. (feet/torse, etc)


Though...

At the risk of drawing ire with me praising M3/Intimidator, he does have play-ability in the separate modes, and can pull off some great dynamic poses. But yes, transforming is a lot more involved. Hopefully this won't bring the hate with me expressing an opinion.

The shoulders bumps on CW Menasor are easily based on the ones in the show. There are only two things that really bother me now; one is the fact that he has extra truck halves on the shoulders; I think THAT'S what's making him look a lot wider than he should. The other thing is the chest panels; I don't have the mold personally so I don't actually know if that's a part of the alt mode or what, but I do feel like those chest panels could've been sculpted to be more show accurate.

 

That's incredibly close minded. "I just ignore what they write in most cases." Well then, why even bother being part of a fandom? Why bother being part of a message board forum where people have discussions? This isn't an attack, it's a genuine curiosity. If you don't care what we think and ignore what we have to say, you don't care about us and ignore us. What's the point, then?

That's actually quite cold, if you think about it. So much indifference towards your fellow man... Hasn't anyone ever told you that apathy can be dangerous?

But see, you say things like "I ignore stupidity, but sometimes I remark" and it disproves all of what you just said. So basically, what you want is the following:

"I want to voice MY opinion. MY opinion is FACT. I not only don't want to hear what you have to say, but I think what you're saying is stupid and I want no part of it. I'm right, you're wrong. Know how I know? I'm a cop. We just know. So, keep talking, but I'm not paying attention. Okay, wait. Please shut up, you're stupid."

That's EXACTLY how you're coming across. It's extremely unpleasant. It reeks of "You're not a REAL fan" mentality. It's not necessary, it's not welcome and you're not being a very cool fan.

Some people just what? Enjoy the whole being a fan thing the way they see fit? Oh, boo hoo for you. Build a bridge and get over it. You don't have to like it, but you can also keep your dislike to yourself. Some fans? Yes, they're carrying around a sense of entitlement that makes me want to scream. Some are just batshit crazy and let the shows and movies dictate their lives and joy, but there are plenty of well balanced, good and decent fans who contribute to the fandom and make it a better place. Whether you want to see it or not. I can't say whether or not you've contributed to the fandom, you very well have, but I can certainly ask: What have YOU done for the fandom?

And that's fine. If the HasTak CW Menasor works for you, awesome, that's great. (See how I was able to disagree, you were able to voice your opinion, and I still showed you respect? Amazing. It DOES work.)

I agree. For me personally, I'm going to stay with my FP version and completely skip this one.

I agree with guy who said he loved it for all the reasons a lot of you hate it. I love how unconventionally ugly it is, even if that's more a side effect than actual design intent. Horns, badass... Messy body while still having full articulation where it counts, badass... sick individual modes for all (YES INCLUDING MOTORMASTER), BADASS!. This is the most metal combiner team, probably drunk on nightmare fuel and just a total agro piece of shit personality (which comes across in the faces). I wouldn't accept Bruticus or Devastator or any other combiner that had this vibe/style going, but it is perfect for the Stunticons. This also coming from a guy who sold his FP Menasor for this offering, so this isn't about affordability.

True, Abominus could go for the same vibe, which is why for a short time the messy legends version did it for me. Very short time, hehe, but all the Terrorcons, especially according to their bios, seem like a dirty team who don't really give a shit about how they look in combined form.

the combiners are SUPPOSED to be these imperfect monster creatures. they are more like WMDs than actual characters to begin with.

 

What's there to know? They're apparently being released in March so it's only a matter of time. I'm looking forward to Breakdown and Dead End myself.

 

 

Come to think about it, this has that metal sort of aesthetic. As a rock 'n roll fan, I appreciate that a lot. Who needs a slick weapon of destruction when you can have one infused with the power?
