Absolutely. Especially if you're any kind of Bruticus fan. Get him.

I don't think any of the CW combiners look better than this Bruticus. Before the upgrade I kept Bruticus wayyy in the back but now I make certain he is visible. But if you already know CW Bruticus is going to replace this one, then just save your money?

I've had a very bad experience with mine, so just be aware. It seems like one of those things where if you get one that's bad it's gonna be very shitty, like mine is.

That being said if you want a great LOOKING FoC Bruticus, you won't find better.

Also, I don't understand the idea of getting this or CW Bruticus. This one is FoC, while the possible CW Bruticus is Classics. Two different aesthetics and concepts.

The set isn't without its issues (careful on how you insert the arms!), but I think that this guy is worth getting even with CW bruticus coming out down the line. If CW onslaught is a repaint of Hot Shot, I think the combined forms of both will look different enough to justify having both.

At least thats what I keep telling myself to stop the little voice in my head saying 'stop spending money on robots!'

Despite being the aesthetic freak I can be, I like to pretend all of my FOC figures are just Cybertronian forms of classics figures. Thus in my "Collection Cannon." (God that sounds stupid.) Their all in the same universe, so having FOC Soundwave with Classics Prime is A-Okay. I just figure Cybertronian modes are "more complex." SO, this is my classics Bruticus/Combaticons.

Thanks for all of your input guys, He sounds like money well worth it.

EDIT: Also does anyone know the best place to but him with the cheapest/best price?

I'm hoping for a version with Onslaught in the SDCC and Platinum brownish color myself. Already have the regular release with my retail Combaticons but dont wanna buy a second one in the same color.

UI finally got to play with my set last night. I spent quite some time on it. I don't have a nice camera only a iphone so here are my pictures. Not even totally sure if I did everything right.

I am a bit conflicted with this one. I think it's worth the $110. I got it as a birthday present so I have no complaint. It does a lot of good and makes a really nice FoC Bruticus. In combined mode, I really dislike the legs. The connection just isn't strong enough and separates too easily. Seems like everytime I try bending the knee or twisting it, with Swindle, something either pops off or the connection dislodges. With Brawl, the problem is with the figure itself. Hasbro just didn't make that connection port ratchet strong. The arms, the fist connection to Vortex could of been better.

The build quality of the Onslaught figure could have been better too. I have way too many part that has stress marks on it. The figure came out of the box this way. The sprue marks on the forearms, I don't like. Not really a problem in Onslaught bot mode but in combined torso mode, they become the front thighs and they are kind of an eyesore. The ball socket for the right wrist is way too tight, sqweeks like they are about to break when I twist it. I didn't have the problem with the hips splitting apart. But the front skirt panel does like to pop off and the left one doesn't sit as flush like the right one.

The upper torso with the arms are nice and solid. If only the knee connections was a little bit better and hold everything better, I would of like it a bit more. As it is, I still think this is well worth it. I like the transformation on all three modes. It's not overly complicated. Would of been better if the tabs lock in tighter in some spots. I can fit those myself with some polish. I wanted a screen accurate FoC Bruticus and MBC looks best. Just wished it held together a bit more solidly.

I got this set for Christmas and I transformed it exactly once (robot -> wheeled brick -> torso). I am just afraid of damaging it by transforming it again, but it does look very good when combined with the limbs!
On the other hand, CW Prime and Silverbolt are a joy to transform in their three modes. They might be just toys, but they represent much more value for money compared to something I am afraid to touch.

I don't know how you guys do it. Took almost 3 weeks to finally get this. I can't imagine you having to go back and forth testing prints and revising. Must take forever.

This sucker works out pretty great. The ends are really tight and take some effort to get the figs off, which might be a good thing when combined. As long as Shapeways' stuff is pretty strong, it should be fine. Sadly, the wheels on Onslaught need to be pulled out and forward to make room for the gun handle peg but it's not like it's a big deal. Aside from that, it works as you'd expect. Thank you, sir!

Thanks Project 9! The wheels should be able to go in the factory position...at least to my understanding...can you take a photo of the area in question?

The tightness is to compensate for Shapeways tolerances...I tend to err on the tight side as its generally easier to sand down than it is to add up. ;)

Very true. That and keep them holding up from general wear.

If I rotate the wheels around, it fits (unless I'm transforming it wrong). I haven't messed with it much as I forgot how annoying Blast off is. Lol

Just got the official artbook (like new condition) off ebay for $13 shipped. I think MCB did a great job with the colors and design. Here's the text in the book and Bruticus' backside if anyone is interested. [IMG]

Hmph, somehow I have my wheels transformed differently, I'm using a little rectangular peg towards the front...perhaps I'm doing it wrong?

If I do have it wrong, it would pretty tricky to make these adaptors double as guns...but maybe I have have the pegs forward instead of downward???

Rotate the wheel around. It should be under his arm pit.
