If I remember it correctly, it was a "If CW is successful and continues well into 2016, we might do a Seeker combiner" kind of rumor

only confusion i have with this ~ where do the wings go during transformation? They'd have to clear the arms somehow, so they couldn't be attached to the tail piece.

I would assume that Blast-Off would have a huge backpack then, which would ruin the top portion of his arm mode. Honestly, I'd prefer a rotor-less Alpha Bravo with small thrusters instead of the tail fin.

Pretty sure these are different sources

Monzo uncovered the listings for leader Jetfire and Megatron from Hasbro's customer service site. Those weren't rumors since they came from Hasbro, it was just a matter of if they were still coming or cancelled.

Leader Magnus and Devastator came from TRU store listings.

Seeker combiner was from a guy who came out of nowhere and said he had a friend at Hasbro that said Trypticon and a Seeker combiner were coming and a Devastator. IIRC this is the same guy that thought Power Core Combiners Steamhammer combined with Constructicon drones WAS Titan Devastator....

Yeah, predicting the Trypticon reissue is the only thing that gives Seeker Combiner Guy any credibility, and even then I'm not inclined to believe what he said.

    Doubt it

He didn't know if it was a G1 reissue or all new generations figure, which further leads me to doubt his claims.

I agree. Cyclonus is going to have to really knock it out of the park to get my attention, the Universe one is just so perfect I don't want another.

    Seeker combiners? LOL
That wouldn't happen. Sure the coneheads came, but to call them combiners was just pathetic.

Well, he seems to be made from Silverbolt, who is getting a lot if good mentions, so Cyclonus should still be good. I am just not interested because I like my Universe mold so much.

Um, I AM a TransFormers fan, hince why I’m a member here...

    The fuck?

Since RID doesn’t have any voyager class figures (as of now), I took it that CW’s is Hasbro’s current mainline?

I’m sensing none of that... just people making casual discussion about what could better a toy. You really do white knight Hasbro, don’t you

I've heard that Optimus Maximus will have a new head. If that's true does that mean it may have other retooled parts on the mold?

Those sentiments I can easily agree with, and I won't flat out write off a figure I haven't seen yet, since a) it's our best educated guess that Cyclonus would be derived from Silverbolt, but not confirmed, and b) even if that's what it is, some heavy retools like Springer/Sandstorm could give a lot of people hope.

Of course because of the layout of Silverbolt's combined mode, Cyclonus would most probably have quite a bit of backpack, just for one thing. Just for the sake of countering your point, another toy that got a lot of good mentions -and again I think rightfully so - was Jazz, but that doesn't mean lots of fans were too crazy to see Nightbeat derived from his mold. :D  The transformation(s) to combined mode for Silverbolt are by and large (thigh hands aside) really fresh and quite well done to me. I think after fliers like United Scourge and Lugnut, fans were interested to see the usual plane kibble - wings and other flight surfaces - incorporated into the main robot anatomy or at least have a function. Or indeed that all the robot parts fit flush into an aircraft that looks passable from almost any angle.

So of course in a perfect world it would have been great to see those principles used on Silverbolt, but I am fine with how that turned out. As for the other Aerialbots, those mid Cold War fighters that these designs still tip the hat to, had such thin wings, by and large, that they'd only ever be kibble.
