Cartoon Network is loading the gun before the dog can even bark. That's not surprising at all.

Ya know what? It's Discovery's fault.

If they hadn't bought part of The Hub back, it might have gotten this at a decent slot instead of it being at 5:30 and Discovery Family just being TLC Jr.

Two words for CN right now. Screw Them!

I hope Hasbro has plans to move the show to Shout Factory's new TV station so that they can continue the show from there because it sure beats having it go the same way as TFA.

In going to have to get a DVR, there's no way I'm getting up at 5:00 am to watch tv. Of course I'll probably have seen most of the episodes by then anyway given they premier a month earlier in several other countries.

Well if Sonic Boom can break records at 7am, I'm sure RID could do just fine.

Actually, Armada had a pre-Prime time premiere and was regularly ran on weekends in the late morning. It ended its run 4:30 PM CST 5 days a week. It was during Energon that the "morning dump occured".

Hell, even Transformers Animated was seeing new episodes on Saturday mornings at a decent slot while reruns occured in the weekday mornings.

Tekno nailed it. Even if CN completely hoses RiD, Hasbro's got a larger game in plan. Hasbro's seemingly planning to stick with this show for at least a couple seasons, so that's 2-3 years of product right there.

IIRC, Battle Force 5 was dead in the US by the time its second season aired (to some success) internationally, while Max Steel has been prevalent overseas for years without any US support.

But then everyone would bitch that they don't get the Hub on their cable tier, just as we had during Prime.

So it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" deal: Hub would give the show better positioning, but the channel had far less market penetration. CN gives the show poor positioning, but is FAR more prevalent.

Which I don't think changes the likely fact most US fans would have likely turned to streaming/online services to watch the show anyway.

While I know this appears a "bad spot", I remember Beyblade ran at a similar timeslot when it was quite popular, so I am not sure if it is THAT bad a spot, or that because of the prevalence of streaming (CN streams a LOT of their content through their own website) the viewings won't be terribly offset.

No surprised in the least, if CN doesn't make it they give it the crap time slots. we probably should be thankful we got the 6pm one.

Obviously either CN will not allow anyone to select time slots for their show to be aired or Hasbro doesn't even try, my guess is CN refuses to give up that control.

Sadly people continue to watch the garbage CN produces so they will continue to favor it.

And you forgot Mountain Time anyway. PST is 3 hours before EST, hence the separate airings.

Wow, into the 6:30AM death slot right away. I figured the show would manage to get a primetime spot for at least the first half of Season 1. Hopefully Hasbro is playing the long-game and planning to keep this going out through streaming and/or other sources, because I'll be amazed if it lasts beyond Season 1 on US broadcast TV.

I'll just be watching it on iTunes and/or some other streaming service anyway.

So it is aimed at kids? Ok so they would most likely sleep on a Saturday morning, maybe, I gues CN is hoping kids will watch it on their DVR or website later on. If it fails, I don't want another reboot. I mean how many reboots do we need per decade Hasbro? Give me something new

That's probably what CN and Hasbro are thinking. Transformers is an established brand with fans that will do that. Most of the other CN shows: not so much.

Besides, with how much people record, isn't actual TV practically a streaming service?

I remember season 5 of G1 (yes, the Tommy year) coming on in the same slot (which was 5:30, because Central Time). Didn't stop me from recording it...with a friggin' VCR...and it was just reruns!

But hey, original live-action Prime, amirite?
