Kewlness, feel free to fire me a PM, and if I did end up using it, I'd make sure you got the credit for suggesting it. :)

Now that's an interesting challenge. I shall look into it once I get the G1 Megs in-hand. :D

Thread subscribed! Has it been discussed how to get the leg extensions on? Is there any cutting?

It's only been discussed briefly, but nope, no cutting required at all. All it means doing is unscrewing the thighs, not losing the springy ratcheted bits from inside, and basically slotting everything together. I try to avoid cutting as a rule, since, erm, I never got round to buying a Dremel... :p

Once everything's finalised, I shall do a photo guide for installing all of the kits I'll be selling. :)

And with that... newsflash! After looking at pics of Motormaster a few minutes ago, I think I might have just worked out how to give Prime smokestacks on his shoulders! Imma try designing it and testing it first, though, before I talk much about it, so watch this space... :D

I know you're not planning anything for Leader Jetfire, but if I may make a suggestion for a Dreadwind Upgrade (head, gun, maybe more) so Universe Ultra Darkwing ( with the Renderform kit) may finally have his appropriately sized brother.

You're right, I'm not, but I am planning some add-ons for the Seeker version of the mould (including upgraded heads), so I shall see what I can do, 'cos it will be quite do-able. As long as I stay away from add-ons that rely on specific Seeker-only bits of the mould, it should be simple enough. :)

:D  The Brotherhood of Happy Nerds is growing...

I'm still tweaking everything (the shape and size of the bammaries, for instance, and I won't even be uploading this till after I get Motormaster), but this is where the Menasor add-ons are at now; it uses the mistransformation of the arms that you'll see in the review thread for Motormaster (a mistransformation that, as far as I know, I was the first person to come up with), then the box below fits in between where the arms end up (and you'll need to mount Menasor's head on this box), while the bammaries peg in to the hands (which sit on the chest in that alternate configuration).

It should make him two or three centimetres taller. :)

Thanks for making me actually want this figure, johnbonhamatron. It's amazing how just the leg extensions alone fix so many of the figure's problems. And the chestplates are just an added bonus!

One tries one's best, and thanks very much. :D

Welp, the prototypes of the V2 chestplate and thigh extensions, as well as the new fuel tank guns, have been ordered. Meanwhile, development of the Thunderclash Conversion Kit is well underway, as is development on the Menasor Massive-ization Kit. Two potential versions of the new feet are more or less designed, and ready to be chosen once I can see how he currently scales with leader Megatron, and the Ginrai chestplate for combined mode is also well underway, as is another bot mode chestplate (IDWRiD). Also, I may have found somewhere to store the chestplates in alt mode, even without the combined mode chestplate. I shall give it a try and see how well it works, once it arrives.

I reckon it's time to try and tackle that idea of getting the smokestacks (or at least, a set of smokestacks) onto the shoulders.

Wish me luck, 'cos this is the one I'm not sure I can pull off... :inquisiti

My lord the leg extenders work wonders! And the work you've been putting into everything just makes me giddy as a school girl! The Reprolabels, with the leg extensions would really make this guy a Prime for the ages! And the chest add on(s) are amazing! Love every idea! Keep it up!!!

You're too kind! Thanks very much. :D

I have to give credit where it's due, though, as I've come to appreciate more and more every day how deceptively bloody brilliant this mould actually is. I'm amazed how well it lends itself to being modified, I really am.

And to think, I wrote it off as a load of rubbish (like a lot of us did) when I saw the first promo pics!

I thought you might like that. ;)

I should point out... I don't want people to get too excited about the smokestack idea, 'cos, erm, there's a very high chance this one won't work... :p

No worries about the smoke stack my main interests as of now are the leg extensions (plus instructions to put together, I don't want to break my Optimus) and the Gas tanks for a better alt mode.

I have to admit you did catch my attention with the IDWRID chest upgrade.

Thanks very much, and I hope it lives up to my expectations, never mind everyone else's! :p

Well this is one of my rules for myself, y'see: make everything easy for the buyer to achieve. That's why I favour simplicity in the things I offer for sale. There's another reason though, and it amounts to this: basically everything I do through Shapeways is because I want the resulting figure on my shelf, and if I make it complicated, I'll never be able to build or install it. :lol

Also, simpler = cheaper, which is always good.

That was one of those "I cannot believe I forgot that one" kinda moments, so my thanks go to Spartan0996 for jogging my bleedin' useless memory. :D

    Could not agree more :thumb

That's funny because that is what CW Optimus is inspired by or vice versa
