Hasbro wouldn't release White Optimus without limbs but they'd release Cyclonus without limbs? If you think a torso can't be released without limbs, then Cyclonus is going to have limbs and that'll add another group to the 'con ranks!

And they aren't releasing White Optimus without limbs.... he'll be out at the same time as the Masquerade bots... those are his limbs! It's Optimus Prime that's the one without limbs. His packaging shows him combined with Drag Strip and Aerialbots. OP does not have a team. White Optimus will have a team.

Everyone talks about how Hasbro "must make this 'Con" or "is sure to make this 'Con" but I can't ignore the fact that there is no word on any others coming, while we already have word on two more 'Bots on top of the three we already have/know about. I'm sure we will get some more 'Cons, but I fear by the end of CW, they'll still be massively outnumbered.

Pity, this line started out so well with Leader Meg, Meg, and Cracker, and Titan Dev.

    1. Calm down, these are just toys.
    2. Cyclonus may or may not have a team, he probably will.
    3. Ultra Prime WILL have a team, his box is color coded blue.
    4. White Prime may or may not have limbs, he probably will.
    5. Just because White Prime will be a wave mate with the masquerade bots, doesn't mean they are his limbs. By that logic Dragstrip is supposed to be with Superion, he is in that wave and he is pictured ON Superion on the box. But he has the color code that assigns him to the Stunticons.

So unless White Prime is color coded blue he will receive his own limbs. Similarly, Cyclonus should recieve his own limbs unless he is color coded otherwise. Only time will tell. It seems like the running consensus is that Hasbro should not split up teams into different waves, it is confusing when speculating.

    1. "Calm down" .... I posted a bang head emoticon.... that's not indicative of me not being calm. It's a joke.

    2. If you think Cyclonus has a team... great... then that does add a team to the 'con side.

2.b. No, Cyclonus does not have a team. Hasbro initially stated CW would be 6 Voyagers and 16 deluxes. That means there are 2 voyagers that do not have teams.

    3. Ultra Prime having a team... yes and no... his "team" is Rodimus Legend and the Masquerade deluxes... which will mostly likely also be teamed with White Optimus since they are "wavemates". If we're counting the total number of combiners on each side, it's inaccurate to count the Masquerade limbs as 2 teams.

    4. See 3.

    5. They are wave mates and the "go together", so they're likely to have the same color coding, hence they will be a team. I'm not saying they'll be a team *only* because of wavemate status. ... It's just that there are going to be 2 voyagers (Prime & Maximus) with the same color ... and I'd prioritize the voyager that's the wave mate (and hence will have packaging showing them combined together) as the main torso of the team. ...Heck... It might be that Optimus Prime and Optimus Maximus are the same character even.

I'll be damn surprised if we never get A Combiner Wars Bruticus like around next year.

Devastator isn't on your confirmed list...well technically it's not by Hasbro but we know it exists.

    That would be awesome.

i also voted for a 'con, so was initially disappointed with the outcome, BUT then i looked at strictly G1 animation combiners, and saw the Autobots are super-outnumbered. So i'm OK with the vote, SO LONG AS Hasbro does make MOST of the official G1 guys..... Unfortunately this will mean 2016 will be "year of the Decepticons"

I would really want this to be true, it's just that it sounds so good I'm worried it isn't. Maybe that's not a valid reason to be skeptical, but this seems really too good to be true. And what I'm most afraid of is raising my expectations only to have them ruined.

If you read my post, I said I was strictly speaking about Scramble City. Devastator is not part of that, and we know that now.

Unfortunately? The Decepticons are long overdue for a year for them. Hell they were practically left out of the 4th film's toyline.

If CW goes on long enough I think we'll get at least some of the beast-based teams. They're pretty obvious and they can likely share a lot of engineering. But just because we might get Computron doesn't mean that Abominus is a given. I mean, this may be the Hasbro that has recently given us new Beast Wars figures, a proper headmaster and a whole line of scramble city combiners but we never did get a full set of voyager triple changers despite Springer, Sandstorm and Blitzwing.

So I'd recommend reserved optimism. I bet that they've got something sketched up already just in case but there might be a change of plans.

Sounds fair. I guess something that's keeping me optimistic that there will be a line, is it feels like every deluxe figure is a retool, so Hasbro must be saving money. i mean, look at all the Aerial bots, even Alpha Bravo does this in reverse. The front of the jet goes on the back, the arms on the side, the legs split open and fold down. The Stunticons look the same. The arms go on the side, push up the legs, fold up the front of the car from the back.

And the voyager, it looks like we're getting one original mold this year, Hot Spot. Everyone else is getting retooled at least once. So with all of this, it appears evident to me that Hasbro is really trying to save money with these guys, and maybe that means to make them so they last a while?

There's also many more releases in Generations this year. And I think Silverbolt and Optimus count for 2015.

Well to be fair G1 didn't have as many Decepticons as there were Autobots.

I like the idea of them making these molds as reusable as much as possible. If they can convince me to get the same mold in different ways they've nailed their job.

    More combiners, WOOHOO!

Kind of odd if you think about it that there are more g1 combiners from the decepticons who are more likely selfish in nature when combining requires teamwork that the autobots are more known for but oh well, that's where the underdog plot falls i guess...

But as a rivals collector, I for one am glad that there will be additional combiner autobots since I'm not inclined to buy a transformers toy without an archenemy or at least its counterpart. I'm surprised to recall that there are really so few g1 combiner autobots against those combiner decepticons. By the way, doesn't Omega Supreme and Skylinx count as combiners too?

I've always found that odd about cons and combiners too but then I came up with this in universe explanation, autobots as they follow a leaders ideals not his strength can have giant's to rival combiners, like omega and skylynx with them taking over.

The cons however want powerful leaders as well as intelligent ones so giants would be a threat to the leaders rule. Combiners are less of a problem as they have to separate at some point and the components can be dealt with stopping the combiners threat to the current ruler. basically they are going with never make a weapon you can't control.

Reality wise it's probably all to do with toy sales.

Don't we vote on that as well? I seem to recall seeing "Windblade" in a poll before the full reveal.

    We did indeed.
Man, as much as I like Windblade, looking back at the choices in the poll the end result could've been so much more interesting. I hope the later stages of the combiner poll are as in depth.
