I'm cool with both co-existing. This is MP Cy-Kill, Salmoor is Classics Cy-Kill, to borrow the TF terminology. Man, I'm really excited for these. Can't wait till the pre-orders go up.
Makes me wonder if DX9 will continue with their voyager-ish scale not-go-bots. Figures after I finally get Salmoor.
My gran bought be a few small Gobots back in the 80s but I didn't like the cartoon much. I like the look of these from Gokin, especially their F1 Leader (never had him)
Depending on the price for these I'll be all over them. I definitely want Leader 1 Cykill Turbo and Tank but I also want Crasher and Coptur as well as Scooter to round out the main cast. As long as these aren't like $100 a piece that is. They keep the price to less than $50 per figure I' probably buy them ALL.
So, this is pretty cool news. I haven't been following the thread, and since it has exploded, can somebody tell me if these are made by Bandai or other manufacturer and not 3rd party? I don't really care wither way, but it will help me gauge my interest based on projected cost and build quality. Also, I'll definitely get Fitor either way, and would look forward to Slicks, Future Machine, Bad Boy (A-10 Warthog!), and Pumper (fire truck) if the line catches some traction and sells well enough for additional molds (and quality and price are right, which will impact the former...). Why these (Go)bots specifically? Well, mostly because I found them while looking for my Kronoform watch in a bunch of 'junk' my move gave me after she cleaned out my old room after I got married a few years ago. I think they were the only Gobots I ever owned. Still looking for my Kronoform...
From what I gather: 1. Bandai USED to own the license to Machine Robo, but let it expire. 2. A 3rd party TF designer bought the rights to the Machine Robo line. 3. That 3rd Party TF designer has worked on Fansproject and Maketoys figures. 4. Bandai may have bought back into Machine Robo upon seeing what said designer has done with the figures.
Awesome!! Please keep these coming... Cop-Tur Zero Dive Dive The Puzzler Combiner Crasher Loco Geeper Creeper Pathfinder Small Foot Road Ranger Water Walk
I don't believe it, finally someone makes decent looking Robo-machine updates, but not the ones I want! Booo! Where's Loco, Buggy-man, Jeeper-Creeper, Cop-tur, Scooter, Hoss, that Bulldozer one, or Loco? C'mon! Crank 'em out!
The pictures are listed under the Action Toys booth so it is pretty much confirmed to be getting their license through Artstorm. http://www.taghobby.com/category/1-0/
I hope this is just wave 1 and there will be more in the future. As much as I like xtransbot's Road Ranger, it's only an approximation of him, these things look spot on so I want a Road Ranger out of this too. Love how accurate Turbo's alt mode is. If they were to do Water Walk, Spoons and Royal-T, or hell even Combinators, I'd pay almost anything.
In a perfect world....... I wish we could get these from Hasbro at $30 a pop....... and a new awesome cartoon. God help me, I'd rather have Gobots than what's been going on with TF RID.
I would love to snag some of the Renegades. Cy-kill, Snoop, and Fitor top the list for me. Need more Crasher. Oh! And Smallfoot!
IIRC, I had a debate with another board member, one that likes to always end his comments in a particular fashion of stating his name, then the last sentence of his comment , a year or two ago where I claimed that Hasbro only owned the names, not the likenesses or the molds. He claimed they owned everything. He got so entrenched in his opinion that he blocked me. This makes seeing this all the sweeter.
Well, we technically already have a Crasher, Buggyman, Road Ranger, Van Guard, Bug Bite, Spoons and even Cop-Tur as a Mini-Con. Just need Scooter.
Very unlikely. Far more likely is that Hasbro is reasserting its rights, simply because they've heard of this. Personally, I think it may just even be a coincidence. But Hasbro has used strategic trademark blocking before. In the Unicron trilogy era, when Bandai was doing well with Machine Robo Rescue series in Japan, Hasbro trademarked the name Machine Robo Rescue and/or things very similar here in the States, just in case they needed to block an import line. [EDIT] Hasbro owns the trademark for transforming toys under the name Machine Robot Rescue, which they used in the Universe line, it seems.
