Dunno, you asked the same question in the Guttur thread? Or is it just the Sever thread you wanna wind up?

But and here's the thing...most of what you say should have been done. Like why is the face like that? The eyes are too small and the mouth is horrible. The same happened with Soar and when people asked for a change they got a reply that that's how the designer likes it!

The body just needs an up and down sliding waist joint to move the front in relation to the back. Done! 5 mins tops. Why is it like that? If they remold the whole torso it will be the biggest unnecessary loss of resources ever.

The hind feet. Why are they on that godawful hinge? Engineer the top to be on a hinge and the bottom on a balljoint since you don't want to tuck the dino toes inside the forearm. Unique toys did it with Alberich.

I just think that right now they are on a high horse and guttur made them fall of and now are scranbling to fix whatever they can. I have both paid for but FT needs to regroup. Obviously their designer needs to be reigned in a bit because some of his choices don't make any sense.

And something directed at FT (Ben mentioned it briefly). I don't care if people want to fix their figures, or tighten them for $200. We shouldn't have to do that period.

It's another example of the pointless pissing contests that pollute the fandom.

You would think that people would be happy that there's so many great options but apparently not.

I don't care who "wins", I made my choice and will be happy with it.

I agree with you 100% that Scoria and Soar (especially Scoria) fit with MP Grimlock right away. And that's the deal breaker for me!

IMO MP Grimlock is an outdated design (too small, simple etc) and I want any 3P doing the Dinobots look forward rather than back. I know both FT and GP have plans for their own Grimlock, but if say Scoria is so aesthetically in tune with MP08, then he might end up looking out of place next to the new FT Grimlock. I can already see the evolution from Scoria to Soar to Sever - how much more advanced (and hence less visually cohesive with their earlier dinos, in particular Scoria) might FT's Sludge and Grimlock end up being?

Now that, I get - got the FT Slag & Swoop myself. Dig them both, especially the Soar.

But if a different company, whether it's Giga or a separate entity (maybe even Takara) comes along that makes say, a hypothetical Grimlock or Sludge that SINGS to me, I'm not going to claim some "superiority" or "victory" based off of prior brand allegiance or purchase. I don't owe FT that. Or Giga and even Takara.

Then again, I'm totally willing to mix and match, so maybe I'm in a different camp.

Ha. I don't know. You want me to ask the same question there, precious? Not trying to wind up SH!T, wiseass. I'm not some Guttur fanboy. I'm a CONSUMER. And I had a question regarding CONSUMER behavior.

Well, if they told me they invested in company stock of Fans Toys or something, I'd get it.

The only one that needs to "win" are us. Hell, we're the ones buying this stuff.

where are these company allegiance posts and blatant fanboyism things you are talking about? if anything I see that most are agreeing that both FT and GP have good offerings coming to the table for snarl, and that choice is a good thing?

    did I miss something?

Not much to miss but they're scattered about. Can't say whether it's in the majority or minority, but not important in the grand scheme of things...

I like Guttur's larger size, bigger tail etc but I really love FT's leg transformation and how it all tucks away in there.

It creates a really cool look for him rather than just sticking the dino legs on the outside of the leg.

If I could take the torso from guttur and combine it with the leg transformation of Sever I'd have the Dinobot I'd want.

I'm still going with Sever because nostalgia but Guttur is looking to be a solid offering.

And as most people have said, black hips on Sever please!

While I do love the larger tail, Sever's tail isn't that bad and he'll fit better on my shelf. Plus I love everything else about him and I'm already two FT dinos in. Can't wait for this dude.

Man that last otaku photo of sever did him no justice. This one looks much better.
Not feeling the black inner tail though.

Agreed. Seeing them side-by-side makes breathe a little easier about my Sever order. Sever's bot mode just looks better in my opinion. The alternate head isn't great, but the standard head is almost as good as Guttur's.

I'm still toying with buying them both though. I like Giga's Stego-mode better and both video reviews left me very impressed.

My only hesitation with Giga is their next two designs. Their Slag and Swoop seem a bit too stylized to me. Obviously things can change, but FT Swoop is a favorite of mine and will be hard for anyone to top.

Man, both look freaking great. I really love the paint job on Guttur, but as others have said I greatly prefer the tucked in dino legs on Sever. I'm still seriously thinking about getting both, they are that good.

ive started encorpurating the color-coded text in my non-TF life as well... apparently I am too sarcastic for the written word

after i first watched Bens' GUTTER review i almost cancelled my PO for FTs version and contemplated selling my duplicate FT swoop/slag - i had nearly written giga off... i was wrong - amazing figure

i've changed my mind/collection/displays so frequently and have sold/re-gifted more transformers than ive kept so im not afraid to jump ship (looking at you CHUG, AT/BT, WST, TF prime, dioramas, detolf displays...)

but after watching some of the cartoons and comparing the two (finally with some side-by-side pics) i'm still leaning towards FT (minor aesthetic preferences and I like the fit with my exisiting collection)... no regret (yet) - however, if anybody would like to donate a Gutter head for me, that'd be swell

I still prefer Sever overall, but it would have been nice if his wings were finished in gold color from the rear view when split apart like Guttur has shown in the comparison pic. Not a deal breaker, but it looks unfinished in just black plastic when compared to Guttur.

Both these guys look fantastic. I really don't think anyone is going to regret getting one over the other. For me, it came down to size. I like my dinos to be huge.
