Probably my last post here until we find out some more details on the future of RWBY, so I'd like to post this, so all of us can reminisce. This is the trailer that personally hooked me, and the one that I always come back to when I think of RWBY, even moreso than the two volumes themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt9vl8iAN5Q
Aw man...been following Monty for so long now, I remember watching Haloid all those years ago, then seeing that he started working at RT. His choreography has to be the best that I've ever seen, and truly inspirational to me since I want to follow the animation path. Seeing Haloid at a younger age and following RvB probably helped with this, so Monty's work has made a rather large impact on my life I should be going to Uni this year to start my work in animation, thanks for everything Monty...R.I.P
I never even got around to watching RWBY...Always said I'd get around to it... Despite this, I had a big respect for Monty Oum. He was a hard worker, an amazingly hard worker. He did so much stuff on his own, and then with the help of his own team. He's an inspiration to a lot of writers, animators, and artists. He deserved to see his dreams brought to life. He deserved to live a full life. The fact that he is unable to...there are little words to describe how unfair it is to both him, his friends, his fans, and most importantly his family. But I believe in celebrating life more, rather than mourning the dead. So I'm going to try and follow Monty's example and Matt's advice and make something cool and creative. Its sad to see a good man go, but damn...I'm sure he's making Heaven all the more awesome.
I just realized, we will never see the ending of Dead Fantasy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6KQ_eYyhok
Gametrailers has finally released something concerning Monty Editorial Video - Thank You, Monty | GameTrailers
I'll be honest. My opinion of RWBY in my last post has not changed. However, that doesn't mean I don't respect the man for the work he has done over the years. Haloid is pretty nostalgic, so perhaps a new re-watch is in order since I haven't seen it in a long time. R.I.P
OHHH SHIIIIT All these years...Haloid was Halo and Metroid the whole time. Wow. Barring that apiphinistic experience, the whole animation community weeps for Monty. A lot of stuff is up in the air right now, and I can only wish that his family and friends can stay grounded. It's like when Edd from Eddsworld died. All you can do is pick up the pieces and carry on with them in your heart.
Ugh, why do the brightest flames always go out the quickest!? Monty was always an inspiration for me. He built up from nothing, never stopping, always creating. I'm not as talented as him, but I've got ideas. And he's showed that ideas can get you somewhere. I think we can all agree Monty had an affect on us all somehow. I know he's inspired me to follow my dreams and live every second like you can do more. "This world's unforgiving. Even brilliant lights will cease to burn."
God dammit, I can't express how awful I feel about this. I've followed Monty since his Halo vs Metroid video way back when. His work in Red VS Blue as the artist behind some of the greatest action scenes I had ever seen in my life has always inspired and amazed me to no end. While I have had some issues with RWBY, it is still a rich world with a variety of great characters. If anything, I think we need more web-series like it. Losing the guy behind it all is just horrible. Today we've fantastic artist, and a really cool guy. RIP.
I've only known about Monty from RWBY, and as a long-time anime fan, I have a lot of respect for him because of the way RWBY paid tribute to the anime and video game genres. I was really pumped up for RWBY to have a third volume this year, but with Monty gone, that seems to be uncertain. R.I.P. Monty Oum.
Everything about this hurts my heart. Monty Oum was an inspiration for me, even if I never met him. I just wish I had the chance to do so before...
