With the "spycam" photos before I worked out Devastator's height to about 17 inches. Which let me set up a rough scale reference with the new picture. This may not be exact but should be close to how the toys will stack up.
I hope the tracks aren't stuck to the sides like that. Head is too tiny and arms too skinny. Not looking good. But I can see 3p coming in and remedying it.
Man, I can't believe there's people who are disappointed with this, I think it looks awesome! Although I do hope that giant-ass crane stores somewhere reasonable... Especially since this is $150 vs. the $600+ shit the 3rd Parties put out. I for one don't want to pay anywhere near that for a giant combining robot toy, so I'm stoked. Also, how have you dudes not figured out that the Hasbro people who set up these events suck at Transformers and toys in general. The pose is floppy as crap, it's clearly a very early test shot with no physical stability, and half the parts are probably not tabbed in, so there's really no way to say that this or that looks out of place or whatever. Proportions are one thing, but I think there, too, it's pretty good, and there are gimongous bulldozers out there, so Scrapper being bigger than Mixmaster is not that weird.
I am really surprised. Looks good but I still like my Green Giant though but this one is great for those who don't want to break the bank.
its the return of that awful classics skywarp purple... i'll wait for the final product designs, but my initial thoughts are ill stick with my hercules (which is pretty nicely scaled with CW)
Not bad, in my opinion. The only things I would change would be purple hands and a non-atrophied left foot and maybe black treads for Scavenger, if I'm picky.
Well, looks solid at least. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as Hercules (since that would be too unrealistic) but seriously, what's up with that head? It's waaay too small for the body it has. The arms are also a bit thinner than I would prefer.
overall.. very nice mixmaster's foot mode TOTALLY sucks.. i'm surprised it looks that bad.. i thought it'd at least look in scale with the rest of the figure.. but.. the rest of it looks great. it definitely needs some paint.. especially the shoulder treads.. that's rather cheap. i imagine the takara version is going to looks much better. the arms are also a bit different, not bad, but different. i can't recall a devastator who has treads as shoulders. it's an interesting way of doing that.
Yeah, I'm really impressed. Can you imagine what TT could do with an MP combiner? Really starting to get my hopes up now, but I think we're still a good year or two off at least.
the more i look at it.. the more i'm surprised that they did mixmaster that way.. i just don't get it. and seriously.. with a good paint job and a better foot, this thing would be stellar.
oh i know.. hopefully this is a step in that direction. maybe sales of these things will help convince them that a masterpiece combiner is a great idea. if they can pull a generations version that looks so close to being awesome, a masterpiece version would be just flat out perfect.
Hmmm, I like what I see! The general proportions look acceptable. Devastator manages to retain the treads on the shoulders more cleanly than MakeToys Giant, and I think it's possible the forearms are not detachable kibble. Bonus! Hook and Long Haul blend in so seamlessly that it's hard to tell they're two separate bots. I'm relieved to see that Hasbro did a good job with this and I can't wait to get my greedy mitts on it! There are only three minor gripes I have: - Mixmaster's cab section is a bit small, looking like Devastator has two different sized feet. - I wish Hasbro painted the hands purple. - I'm not fond over the head sculpt. It seems neither cartoon-accurate or comic-accurate.
Am I crazy in thinking that the hands could fold into the underside of the forearms, and the forearms fold into the torso / cab sections of Scavenger and Bonecrusher? The elbow hinge on Bonecrusher looks like it could allow this.
