Just got in Madtoys Infinity Gokin King of Beast. This figure is an absolute marvel. I am so impressed. Metallic paints, 60% diecast, just a rock solid figure. Over 1kg of pure awesomeness. I highly recommend it.

How long has it been? That's what worries me. If I get a lemon of a set, I don't know how long will it to take to get replacements.

Thanks, I'm really enjoying KOB. But may I ask what was wrong with your KOB that you had to request replacement lions? How many?

I picked up God Mars, finally, last week, and while he's quite cool, that hip articulation was sooooo limited. Now, I don't need some crazy range of movement, but a little more than a few degrees outward would be nice.

I could see the joints were there, but they appeared to be severely restricted, so I disassembled Sphinx to see what was there:

Now, that sure looks like it was originally designed to be a sliding joint, doesnt it! There looks to be a track of sorts on Sphinx's back panel, and the "slider" even has those little locking nubs so it would have clicked in up or down.

However, it seems Bandai decided against this feature at some point, and added a large rectangular block to lock the slider in place. Now I didn't feel the need to have it slide any further into the body, but it was clear if it could slide down further, it could free up more articulation. So, I took out my dremel, and cut away the upper portion of the diecast block.

    The slider now slides down:

After reassembly, the sliders are nice and snug. They slide up and down securely, and remain solid extended, or rectrated. In a straight on shot, it looks slightly awkward, and Gaia's legs are definitely more exposed.

However, the outward range of motion is greatly improved:

But more importantly, the hips forward movement is now also freed up greatly, and that combination allows for some more expressive poses:

It's been about two weeks and I did not receive a tracking number yet. The sender did tell me the parts should have been sent out and he's checking with his agent to give me a tracking number. So maybe they'll be here next week?

Mine had numerous paint flaws and my red lion had a broken tail and the spring inside broke or became misaligned to the point I couldn't lock the head in the slot anymore.

WOW I appreciate the balls on this man for modding such a high end gokin! I'm glad the surgery was a success.

A few more close up pics of the lions using a slightly better Camera. I forgot to fold out the ears on the black lion before.

I think most have pushed it listed to February for US retailers, at least bbts has. Considering theres only two days left in January I think that still means soon.

Not sure if it goes here, but anyone else amazed by the Dynamic Change Shin Getter Robo that just went up for pre-order a few days ago? It looks far more poseable and far nicer than the other Dynamic Change Getters.

Am I the only one sort of wanting of a different face sculpt for KOB? I feel thats the only weak point of the set.
