^^ I like in Plano, TX, I'll have to see how things go especially time and finances. ^^

For a person to scribble their name on something plastic or a comic book, $300 is a bit much.

I'm not writing to discourage anyone to pay $300.00, but to me to drop the plastic for $300, it's going to take some soul searching to see if the scribbled name is worth it.

Just speaking from my own personal preferences, I usually have the actor sign an unopened box/blister card, marker color depends on the item, for example something with a dark background will be silver and light background (like the plastic bubble) will be black. The experienced voice actors should know which color to use.

The one time I had a loose toy signed was my old G1 Optimus Prime trailer from the 80's which made a nice big canvas for Mr Peter Cullen to sign.

I normally don't get them personalized (unless the actor asks) since I want to give them to my kids eventually.

Again this is my own tastes but I wouldn't ever consider having them sign a 3rd party or bootleg/KO item (indeed some conventions won't even allow it) - only official Hasbro product.

Somewhat related, I think it's important to have the actual character's name on the packaging, that's why I didn't have Michael Bell sign Takara MP Sideswipe - the character's name on the box was "Lambor" who in my mind is voiced by a Japanese voice actor. But I was happy to have him sign my US TRU MP Prowl. That's why I appreciate the cards sold at the Botcon conventions - they clearly state the character's name and next to that "voiced by ___".

Just my two cents on getting autographs.

I have to agree here. I had the Peter Cullen package last year, and the way they treated the VIPs was horrible. Still, thought it was worth it, and I might look into going this year since it's not the same venue as last year.

The autograph for me is secondary. It is artist alley that attracts me more. The autograph I would prefer to know who is there.

Damn, $300... quite a bit but might be worth it, if I could justify the expense to go to Texas otherwise, lol.

Oh yeah? I just might give that a whirl... It'd still be a bit expensive, though, since what I really want is to have them sign my GI Joe DVD Footlocker set.

Yeah, they were both also in GI Joe. :)

Yeah, the price is extremely out there. And poorly run conventions.... I've been burned by Auto Assembly UK already and not sure I really want a repeat of that. For $300, I expect full-on VIP rock star treatment and a no-hassle experience, not just to be shuffled about cluelessly or herded around like cattle.

    Decisions, decisions.

He should write 'Not Frank Welker' on Apollyon's box.

Would be great to meet them both, a fairly rare occasion, iirc, Frank doesn't usually go to the cons. Nice grab on this Con's part.

Just can't afford to travel and/or pay that $$ for the pleasure tho.... still recovering from Christmas.

If I go, I totally should request that! :lol  But then, I suppose I do have a G1 Megatron he could autograph instead (guess he can sign the back of the toy). Or my custom painted AOE Voyager Galvatron (Welker did provide the voice for the character).

I would rather meet them in person rather than shipping an item off to the talent agency. For one, both of them are getting up there in age so their time is getting shorter and shorter as time goes by. In reality, we do not know when it would be their time. Also, we do not know the talent agencies' rules in regards to sending items to them for the voice actor to sign.

In terms of going, I would love to head back to my birth-state, but I would have to see how my finances are after a bit of remodeling on my home.

Seeing the two of them side by side in person at a panel would be awesome.

Someone should challenge them to switch roles.
We've seen Peter can do an AWESOME Megatron, but can Frank do a decent Optimus Prime? (and what do they think of each other's take on their characters voice?)

If I wasn't on the other side of the planet I would be there for sure. Worth every penny for the rare chance to meet these two.
