Some spoilers state that Optimus Prime still exists and needs to evolve into "Optimus Supreme". That has me a bit stumped, as we've seen the title "Supreme" before in the case of "Omega Supreme".

I'd imagine that it has been answered somewhere before in novel, game, or comic form that I haven't bothered with yet.

So here are my questions to the field:

Is Omega the same kind of superbeing that Optimus is to become?

Is anyone who returns from the AllSpark a "Supreme"?

What, if anyone knows for sure, exactly is a "Supreme"?

It really depends by continuity
In G1 it was just a name.
Omega was the last of the giant Sentinels that guarded Autobot cities.

Rid seems to have made it a new meaning.

They did something similar in animated where Prime was just a rank and not the Leader designation it was in G1 other continuities. Prime in animated was outranked by Ultra Magnus.

Where as in G1 and early IDW continuity Prime means Leader of the Autobots.

Only time will tell what Supreme will be in the Rid/Prime continuity.

 

well exactly what a supreme is in the new RID is an unknown right now so we cannot answer your question yet.

The only series in which what a Supreme was spelled out is Animated, and in that case the Supremes were more or less a sentient Autobot Super weapon.

to be more precise they were massive Autobots meant to be the last line of defense against the Decepticons. They were instilled with a great sense of self sacrifice. none survived the war in tact and one Omega and the one who became the elite guard's ship survive in any form.

 

A Diana Ross 'bot would be scary, and if she's not yet completely over the hill she'd be pretty hot in addition to being a pain in the ass. I'd imagine she'd have had quite a few upgrades along the way: enough that she really doesn't look like the same 'bot she was in the beginning!

If it wasn't defined with the Omega Supreme in the "Fall of Cybertron" or other media in the same continuity I suppose I'll just have to wait until the writers finally fill us in.

 

A supreme is the same thing as a prime except it comes with Sour cream

 

He will probably guard the well, and the new title is a symbol of that.

I hope it's something like that. The idea that he's training with the 13 makes me think he's training to become one of them, but the 13 are all Primes. Optimus dropping Prime to join the Primes would be silly.

 

For Omega Supreme it was said that it could be interpreted as "Last Best" or the best of the last

For Optimus Supreme it could be interpreted as "Best Best" basically saying he's the best of the best of Cybertron.

Isn't he already one of the 13 in Aligned?

 

From my understanding, he was in a previous life, bu any knowledge he had from that time was lost when he was reincarnated. Although, he doesn't have any life now, so I guess there's no reason to assume he'd go to the after life as only his second incarnation.

 

Optimus will likely just merge with one of the "Supreme" guardians to become Optimus Supreme, just like in Transformers: Energon.

 

I want it to have some sort of connection to Omega.

I honestly don't know, really-- this has no real precedent that I can see in past fiction, so I'm willing to wait and see.

I'm right with everyone else on this though. I have no idea what "Supreme" actually means in the context of the lore and the Primes, though since becoming Supreme involves learning from the original 13 Primes I'm assuming it's a bit deal.

 

Well considering Optimus is already an infallible god in this continuity it must mean that he literally becomes a new universe because he's so pure and everything.
