the hasbro is fine but this does look way nicer

 

the white hands and feet are wonderful, the deco alterations are interesting too, I wanna know if his antenna are going to be hard gold plastic or more rubbery nubs. an 80's inspired packaging with those animation decos would be quite the supplement to the pseudo-updated combiner wars release. Planned on double dipping anyways, might as well have contrasting styles.

 

Are those Japanese names the same as G1?

i am very thankful to TFC for making Superion so I don't have to deal with Hastak and their bullshit.

 

I do like Takara's Air Raid, it's the only figure in the set that looks significantly better to me. Shame I'll probably miss being in Japan for the actual release, but might be for the best as I'd probably cave and buy it for that one figure :/

 

This is awesome news.

So many little but significant changes to all of them. Standouts imo:

- Skydive; lightning bolts on wings & tailfins, which are now blue. Black instead of red air intakes / shoulders now. Mostly grey forearms now. Paint detail on shinlegs.

- Silverbolt; bye bye butterscotch, hello cartoon gold. Shoulderpads are now
properly painted so Silverbolt now has white wing shoulderpads and the red backside of his shoulders provide Superion red hips.

 

I have Hasbro Silverbolt on the way from Amazon (I've stuck with MP figures since I started collecting again, but these looked too good to pass up). Looks like I might have jumped the gun. Any indication when this Takara set is being released? Do the usual import sites (AE/NY/HLJ/etc) typically carry these?

 

Matter of time. That is why I do not by nothing new until Takara show their version.

 

HLJ and AE carry japanese releases, they offered the entire Legends-line so far so I don't see why they wouldnt carry Unite Warriors as well. Same with NY.

 

We have been quite quick to get wave one over here in the UK and even in that part complete guise, this is the most accomplished combiner they have ever done. Looking forward to an alpha bravo repaint as part of defensor as he is an awesome figure.

This Takara set has, in my opinion raised the bar to parallel some of the third party offerings.

I don't understand the people that hate Alpha Bravo.No need to think of him as a member of Superion.Just keep separate.

Beyond having Slingshot, I really like that their boxed set has matching hands and matching feet. Makes the whole combiner look much nicer.

I'm really curious if there is something on Superion's chest besides the plates built into Silverbolt's legs too. It looks so different from the U.S. release.

 

Goddammit, now I'm on the fence here.

I know I said that I didn't care about having an Aerialbot team consisting only of jets but I have to admit that the combined form looks much more uniform and the white hands and feet makes a lot of difference.

I really hope this is not really expensive in comparison to the Hasbro one.

 

Here's the reason I love Takara more than Hasbro most times. Well done on their part. Now those that had their issue with the 'copter can kiss those worries sayonara.

 

Takara's just painted it slightly different to Hasbro. There's no retooling or anything on the chest.
