I like it. The price on their stuff is high as others mentioned. I just bought Brawny and Backland tonight but it took me a long time to decide. I really like how BadCube get their stuff to fit so well with Masterpiece. Huff has been a permanent fixture on my shelf since getting it.

The only thing I am a bit iffy about is the tracks on the back of the arms, but I guess with colour test shots they will be less obvious.

There was a pic posted that had Warpath about the same height as Smokescreen. So in that regard he is to scale. Now I do agree he is a bit bulky but I'm not sure how a tank could have a slender looking robot when its, you know..........a TANK.

BTW, aren't there real life mini tanks? Was warpath's alt mode supposed to be a full size tank or a mini tank?

Lol @ the people saying Brawny and backland are only worth $60 a piece.... they're as big as MP figures and a little heftier. They're short in bot mode BY DESIGN, to be show accurate. Most 3P deluxe figures are $85 or more, like the FP headmasters... these are way more substantial in hand. Beyond that, when you compare Brawny / Backland to actual mp toys they're what, $10-15 more? Contrast that with $85 for a deluxe (fansproject) or $110 for a voyager (lost exo realm)

Some of you really need to check your expectations. There is NO WAY a third party will make a high quality toy for LESS than the actual Hasbro price point. The only company that kind of does that is KFC, but that's only for their really big toys like Stack and not- Blaster, and you guys complain about them to no end anyway.

In robot mode he is in scale. The chart has him around datsun sized in height.

I can't be for sure because I don't have either in hand and obviously don't have Warpath in hand yet but my guess would be all of Bad Cube's releases have a much larger number of molded pieces than something like the MP carbots. More pieces equal more molds which equals more cost. That's not even taking into account how much smaller run these are.

Yup. Warpath was only a minibot by toy standards. In the toon he was much larger than his toy made him out to be.

Just look at devastator for example. The toys were tiny compared to other bots as well as in comparison to how they were on the toon.

I have brawny and huff... As well as all the mp carbots. The Carbots, especially wheeljack, has far more "going on" than Badcube's bots... You are definitely seeing a price difference based largely on larger runs, bigger clout (I'm sure Takara can make better deals than badcube with the factory), and a better ability to absorb costs.

IMHO, I'm quite surprised badcube bots are as cheap as they are... $20 more than import price of TT figures. It's not highway robbery. Look at similar sized figures such as gestalt limbs and mania King... All go for $95 to $114...

You mean that Wheeljack has more individual pieces? I only have Lambor to compare to but he's fairly simple in terms of number of parts. Obviously more than most mass retail releases but seems like less than some of the third party stuff I have. I'd have to actually count though. It might just be that he seems simple just because he looks simple.

Definitely. Wheeljack has lots of moving parts and pieces, and panels, etc.

It's funny when someone says FT is MP and BC is not because of toon size, when in the toons the dinos are depicted as towering over Prime and FT is not and Warpath was shown same height as the carbots and this one is too.

I only collect MP, so that's all I have to base my expectations for price on. I purchase Takara products from JP retailers and consistently pay around $60 shipped for the carbots, which IMO are a better product. I said price was the main reason I passed, not the only reason. I also don't think their alt modes look very good (again my opinion), I think their legs are too bulky and stubby, and I'm not overly blown away by Brawny's head sculpt (though admittedly I never liked Brawn's head design in the toon either). As far as parts count, I would be surprised if they had more than Wheeljack; if they do, it isn't by much. The Takara pieces have far more paint apps (I'm not even sure Brawny and Backland have anything painted beyond diecast parts and some minor detailing on Backland). They do have some diecast, I'll grant you that. Soooo yeah, you do the math in my head with my opinions and they're worth $60 a piece. If my nitpicks weren't there, I would have gladly paid $90. Many of you did, and I'm glad you like them.

As for Wardog, I have far fewer complaints. He's a good scale IMO, has a very accurate real-world alt mode (almost too accurate to the detriment of bot mode), and has a great head sculpt. I will agree that he is bulkier than I'd like, but as others have pointed out, he is a tank, so I can rationalize that. To me, I see a $100 figure. If he's much more than that, I'll have a decision to make :)

Of course, all just my opinion not meant to start an argument or bash any other 3P's. I just think FT's style is too cartoon focused and lacks a bit of realism which the Takara MP's have. Granted they haven't done any vehicles yet

Ignoring all bonus accessories, screws, and pins.....Mp Wheeljack came up to 95 parts, while Brawny came in at 105.

Interesting. I had assumed Brawny would have a lot due to the mass shifty thing with all the panels.

Fair enough! I definitely didn't think you were trying to start an argument (I actually like it when people have different opinions!). I was just surprised, but your explanation makes sense as if it's realism you're after then I could see how this would be more your thing. :)

Interesting indeed! I don't know why people equate Brawny's size with the price tag, but this is at least some sort of evidence of his 'worth'.

There's not a lot of hidden parts and if there are then that would actually INCREASE the number of parts. As such, it's not that hard to actually count (for most people), especially since arms and legs will be symmetrical.

He probably just put in the effort to actually do so… (worrying more about part count than post count).

Pretty much thats how you do it. I was gonna have my orion chromed and I had to take a parts count. Literally sit there and go over the figure counting every single part.

None of these guys have much in the way of internals. I did just count them piece by piece, making note of what does and doesn't split in half. Also, whenever you feel a ratchet, there is usually a little flex disc inside the joint.

Didn't really take that long. Someone else's may come up different, but I imagine the margin of error to be no more than four up or down.

Either way, they are pretty close to even. Surprisingly, Bluestreak came in around 101. Thought he would be less.

Also of mild interest, Brawny's spare wheel is a literal spare wheel. It is the same mold as the other four. You could pop them off and rotate them out.
