If I recall they were selling them for the average retail cost, $129.99. Though I could be wrong on that.

However looking back at posts from that Botcon they had between 175-180 Metroplexes with them during the event.

The fact that there is a 2nd Titan set on the way kinda proves that Titan #1 sold, at the least, adequately and more than likely sold very well.

Regarding Prowl, to support the gestalt arms he would have to be a voyager or be relegated to being a headmaster of sorts. Otherwise I can't see it happening.

IDW Prowl mass shifts and cheats immensely to become the head/upper torso of this combiner.

I'm not saying it won't happen just that there is limited scope.

IF they manage to make Hook the upper torso AND a leg (doable given the vehicle shape) AND they allow Prowl to jump in somehow I will drop my $150+ without hesitation.

Combiner Wars Superion is superb and I expect this to be as good if not better.

My local Myer sold at least two batches of four or five Metroplexes for $200 each, and Big W sold theirs for $120-150. I don't know whether it was profitable for Hasbro but they certainly didn't fail to sell.

Don't know if I'm the first to say this, but I have a suspicion (maybe 30% suspicion) Hasbro will be pulling a stunt like, multi coloured Constructicons or something, a la ROTF Devastator, cuz it bugs the marketing department to sell 5 - 6 figures in the wave that are all neon green.

Similar to why Dragstrip is released with the aerialbots; it's all about mixing things up to make it interesting for children.

And to go on further with speculation, Takara will announce an all green Devastator 5-pack...

Not only did Titan Metroplex sell, but he wasn't even the best version and he still sold well. Both the TakaraTomy and SDCC versions were superior. He is not a perfect figures as the alt modes lack a certain polish and he's a bit simplified, but I appreciate him for what he is. Remember when everyone said we could never have bases or giant robots with any complexity again? If there is one thing fans prove time and time again, it is that there is a market for ambitious and faithful products.

    What? This isn't a wave. It's a single $180 item.

Yes, the regular Metroplex was a BBTS "Botcon Special Early Air Shipment" for $150.00 (tax included). Bought one there, I did.

I wouldn't be surprised if devy is just the normal deluxes and the hefty price is just taking advantage of the collectors because its one of the most popular characters for Transformers.

For those of you wondering when we will see this. ToyFair is next month. We will see it then. I guarantee. Then it will be available at SDCC (G2 Yellow) before it comes out this fall. You will also probably see a different version at ACG-con (Diaclone Multicolor).

Sorry, that's not how it works either. If the copyrighted name expires, they can try to renew it. If the name is too generic or conventional then it can't be used. In these cases adding a modifier will allow them to register the name again. Autobot Tracks, Autobot Jazz, Decepticon Hook, etc… the entire phrase is the name at that point so if they wanted to use Hook. Then they could call him Decepticon Hook, Constructicon Hook, Devestator Hook, Combiner Wars Hook, or any other name they could think of.

I normally post in other section but this peaks my interest. I love me some Devvy, and a titan class? These may be voyager sized figures, and if they do all 6 (and use hook, please) then we may get a detailed 6 figure combiner. Everything would be upscaled, and maybe they won't use those horrible hand feet considering Devastator doesn't even have clip on feet. Course, I still love my Green Giant, but I am excited to see this guy.

Okay. All said and done it looks like there will be a "Titan Class" (price point) Devastator set coming out this year. Great. That's fantastic news. Not only that but it will sell out and probably sell better than Metroplex did. That's awesome for Hasbro.

Okay. So. NEXT YEAR. I would greatly appreciate the Titan Class figure to be a brand new mold that is close to the same size as Metroplex. Maybe of a dinosaur that transforms into a city and battle station. They could call it Trypticon… or something like that.

PLEEEEEEEAAASE GIVE ME A NEW TITAN TRYPTICON!!!!

I would settle for a Japenese Exclusive MetroTitan… but I wouldn't be as happy as I would getting that dinosaur.
