It wouldn't take a marvel of engineering to make Hook a leg if they want to make Prowlstator an option. His torso mode is a crane folded in half, leg mode would be the alt mode standing on its end. The only engineering there would need to be is having a combiner port in there without compromising his robot mode honestly.

I bet if they have 6, one of them is going to be renamed, like Offroad, Alpha Bravo and Rook.

Now that Devastator has all but been confirmed I really don't know if I wanna spend that kinda money for him,I mean sure I want him but 150 smackers is atleast 1/3rd my whole monthly allowance. But if this is not suppose to come out till March or April then I might could save up enough to get him when he's released, does anyone know when its suppose to be released?.Thanks guys.

    Update:
Right now, right this second I almost wish Hasbro would add Prowl to the Devastator mix, just so all these whiney fanboys will be satisfied atleast until his release, then you get to see the real fanboy rage kick in when Prowl turns out to be a Legends size figure instead of a deluxe, and they all go d-wolly apesh** because of it,and claiming its the end of transformers as we know it,until the next craptastic combiner comes along to take Devs place, then the cycle starts all over again. So I say to all Fanboys to just be happy with what you get and read my lips it is not that big of a deal, these are inanimate pieces of plastic meant to be played with nothing more nothing less.

Yeah nah, Hasbro could care less about third parties. People who buy 3P tfs are apart of a very small demographic, a demographic small enough that hasbro doesn't even bother catering too.

Maybe if third party companies were pumping out more affordable options that were actually getting bought by people other than hardcore collectors, only then would I think hasbro was losing money to 3rd parties.

That'd work. Two voyagers making up Devastator's torso wouldn't screw up proportions with voyager-sized limbs.

Holy shit. You get $450 a month in allowance? Unless your parents are rich, I was gyped as all hell when I used to get allowance.

yeah, um.. i think it's silly to just judge them based on past combiners.. i'm not gullible enough to give hasbro that sort of pass.

i'm judging each individual figure based on previous figures from the generations/classics/RTS lines (cause, you know, we're paying for each individual figure, and they're released separately, not as a set). and when you compare the combiner wars deluxes to the likes of scourge, G2 prime, sideswipe, jazz, kup, and perceptor.. so.. if you're comparing those figures the combiner wars deluxes just don't stack up for me. it just feels like hasbro is using the combining feature as an excuse to release subpar molds.

silverbolt isn't too bad.. but there's definitely room for improvement.

combiner wars prime is just pathetic. it REALLY looks like a cheap upscaled legends figure. it's sad. motormaster isn't as bad looking as prime. but the combined mode of menasor looks horrendous.. the fronts of the vehicles just folded around at the connection points looks awful. i definitely won't be picking up menasor. not to mention the head looks silly and the legs look too long with a really squat torso.

i've said it before, it's a shame that these figures weren't made/released during the peak of the generations line.

i'm definitely interested in seeing how this devastator turns out.

i still can't get over them using a helicopter with superion and an SUV with menasor. i really find that insulting.

yes, some of us are lucky enough to budget a whole 100$ a week from our paycheck... Okay, seriously though. $99.99 for the insecticon set? Unless they've slipped the deluxe insecticons in the pack too without telling anyone, that's a stupidly expensive set for 3 figures the size of modern legends class figures.

Now here's a question... IDW or G1 Devy?

Long story short, he's five members in IDW currently.

That's actually a *very* good point... There isn't a particular reason for those two replacements... but if this ties into IDW, it would serve as a good reason to fix their five-member problem. Also, considering the name "Hightower" has been used to refer to a Constructicon in a couple of toyline/continuities....

I bet Devastator will be released sometime this fall or late summer and people will be putting him on their Christmas list.

    Here's the question,

Would you pay that much if it were 5 figures? Because it sounds like a better deal if it were 6 Voyager figures. Plus if it were 5 figures, it would be like FOC Bruticus. The torso was a bit uneven. But I would get it.

When I think allowance, I think money given by parents to a kid as spending money every week/month.

You can't deny Superion looks really good. I think the components look fun, but I do admit they are inferior to previous Generation figs. Although, looking at AOE, and RID15, I don't think they're using combining to excuse anything. It's a genuine bonus on figures based on their new, lower standards.

I'm hoping that Devastator is being made to cater to collectors (the price certainly would suggest that it is) because most of Hasbro's offerings in the past several years have been pretty lackluster while prices have been climbing rapidly. This is why I believe there are more and more adult collectors focusing exclusively on Takara's MP offerings along with 3rd party releases. There are just better options available right now.

UNNFFFFF finally, pretty much confirmation its a thing. I really dont care if it has Prowl or not, It would be nice though if it was actually 6 voyagers. or even 5 deluxes and a voyager, idk. However, I wonder if Hasbro is gonna make all of them (save the torso bot(s)) able to be an arm or leg. I know you could with the g1 toy (right?), but there is a usual configuration for Devastator, pretty much an official configuration. I hope they just have them just be an arm or leg, not both. Although that probably wont be the case. So psyched for this. May even buy two, why the hell not.

I think it will be five voyagers, not six. While the $179 makes sense if you boil it down to $29.99 per bot (as it is here in Canada), TRU also tends to mark up their products beyond what they're actually worth. That would make it $35 per bot as they'll charge you for the packaging.

On the bright side, here in Canada at least, TRU has sales on Transformers every other week so there will be deals to be had eventually.

If Hasbro is going to base the scale on the cartoon, then Devastator should be sized so we can recreate this scene with the upcoming Leader Ultra Magnus:

Although I'm not sure how they'd justify ~$150 for a six-pack of Minicons...

EDIT - Hey, post 666 - Hail Satan!

If it's five figures and not six I'm not interested. One of the reasons I liked Devastator was because all of the Constructicons were the same size rather than using a larger core robot for the torso. Moreover, if they go the IDW route, I literally have no interest in this.

This is probably the only time Hasbro will ever give us a proper Devastator; hopefully they don't drop the ball.
