I'm hoping that the gold leg tabs are replaced with metal pieces, as breakage seems like a pretty easy occurrence if one isn't careful...

...that said, I just opened him up after receiving him from BBTS on Friday, and outside of the super-tight-and-squeaky shoulders, I have zero issues to speak of. Haven't inspected it too thoroughly for any minor paint chipping, but nothing has really caught my eye. Transformed into full robot mode and then to dino mode without a hitch...took a minute to get his legs to bend properly onto the dino back, but that's it.

One other minor concern I have, though, is the flap that opens to reveal his fists...seems pretty long and flimsy to where it could be easy bent/stressed/snapped.

All in all, though, this figure is an absolute slam dunk. Sever cant come soon enough...nor their not-Sludge and *fingers crossed* not-Grimlock. If they can make a Grimmy with this care and quality, then my Has/Tak can go into storage or even get sold.

I hope this talk of broken or cracked thigh tabs doesn't deter would-be owners from this piece, though it is a problem (that could've been fixed) in the end you just have to be careful.

Apart from the aforementioned piece and the right arm on mines being a bit loose I still love this thing.

Hey fandom! Got my Soar today and Praise God no issues other than the tight shoulders. Whats the consensus on the best fix?

Well, touch wood I have zero issues on either of my Soar figures (I bought two as he's my favourite Dinobot and I *really* love Soar), but I am really nervous after reading about so many breakages and cracks on the thigh pieces. Mine have been fine so far, but that plastic is really thin, and there really is no excuse for FT not to have swapped it for diecast when it was identified as an issue on the test shot not only by Optibotimus (who broke it), but also by reviewers such as Paik4life. Really, what's the point of sending out test shots and then taking another three months to release a figure if you aren't going to use that time to implement improvements to identified problem areas? Soar is superb, but he could have been problem-free if FT had actually listened to reviewers they sent test shots to, and I feel a little cheated that they didn't, especially when Dalianjj was on here telling us it didn't need changing. It did.

But I guess im a sucker anyway, given that as well as two blue Soars, I also have a red one and Sever, Perceptor and Reflector on preorder. And bloody hell Soar is lovely... I think it's just that I hold FT to a high standard, because they are so close at beating TT at their own game.

(EDIT: Re-reading the above it seems overly negative, when Soar is in fact one of the most beautiful figures in my collection and Dalianjj is a very helpful top guy who has sorted me out with minor issues I've had on both Quakewave and Scoria.)

You took the words right out of my mouth, ambitron. Both my Soars are absolutely amazing ! Even though one of mine had a piece break today, the gold plastic thigh tab is still just a very slight flaw of a truly magnificent figure. I was transforming my second Soar into Dino mode this evening when I had the house to myself, following Paik4life's video review of the final figure once again, because he really showed how to get those legs to fold onto his back, when all of a sudden I heard the dreadful sound ! Anyway, I'm not overly upset over it. I was careful with my figure, it's just difficult to get leverage on the legs and get them to bend properly without applying opposite pressure somewhere, and even in the video review mentioned above, you can see where the pressure is required. On that note, I'm confident that dalianjj and FansToys will come up with a solution. I received help from the man before, I'm sure he'll be happy to help once again !

Seeing as I leave mine in robot mode, I can avoid this problem. Good thing cause I've not exactly delicate.

I actually clipped my clips all the way in and got them back out without breaking but I was scared...lol. Anyway I did it by first turning the leg to the side so you can access the little groove area and I placed my thumb and applied very little pressure to the bottom tab area and and pulled from the grove and it came out without breaking.

I believe (but haven't tried it yet) that stripping the chrome from the lower peg of these small gold panels on his upper legs should help to make them easier to peg on and off.

Is there a way to fix the rotating movement of his hands (not the one for transformation but the articulation one)? This joint is very stiff for my Soar. It's more or less ok in its normal position, but as soon as you rotate the hand for about 10 degrees in either direction it gets stiffer. It is most stiff when the hand is rotated 90 degress, and when the hand is rotated 180 degrees, it is almost loose.

I've had chance to spend some more time with Soar, transforming him back and forth. Again, I think I must be pretty lucky, but haven't had a single issue thus far. The gold tabs are annoying when transforming, but I'm being extra careful with them at all times.

Really enjoying Soar! Now for some photos... also posted in the MP appreciation thread. :)

I hope I have a good one like you. And I hope I will never forget to be carefull with the gold tabs cause like my wb heavy noisy (his threads) I stressed the hell out of the tab because I transformed him once without thinking of it.

Apart from loosening 2 screws, the one's for the fist fold out joint I've had no problems with mine either.

Also love that 2nd pic. Really need to get me a decent camera at some point.

    Glad to hear it!

And thanks. I'm actually struggling a bit with my wide angle lens at the moment, as it's playing up. I've had the lens and body for 8 years, so might be time to upgrade soon.

Man... I kinda want the red chest for the team asctetic, but I'd want the blue versions Dino feet and missiles... I feel like the reds just a little too red. Anyone else in the same boat or is this just a personal problem? Lol

My Soar arrived this morning (along with two other large boxes containing MP-11SW, MP-21 and MP-22...)

4.30pm can not come soon enough - tonight is going to be lots of fun! Unless something on Soar is broken or ridiculously loose hahah.

The gold clips on my Soar's legs can clip in all the way, but they become REALLY tight and it makes me scared when I need to pull them out. I already scratched the leg a bit when I had to use a small screwdriver to pry them out for fear of breaking them. Makes me wonder why they didn't make those out of die-case, especially when practically half the rest of the figure is metal.
