Hi all - long time member, first time poster, yadda yadda yadda.

I managed to pick up a spare Star Wars Outrider from Kenner's SotE range, and anyone who's half familiar with that chapter knows that Rendar's ship was a little... lackluster. Basically, they made a cockpit and a squashed saucer-shaped Corellian freighter. Now that I've got a spare to tinker on, I was planning to carve the wedge out of it that should have been built in from the beginning, but also to grow the height of the ship by unscrewing the top from the bottom and "filling in" the space/cutting it to shape.

The problem is I've got virtually zero experience in customizing, so I'm not really sure what I need to look into for a carvable/sturdy material. Should I be looking into craft foams or the like to fill in this sandwich space?

Cheers - I'll be sure to look into it.

Forgot to mention, I live in rural Australia. The nearest decent hobby shop is 4 hours away in Newcastle, so maybe some ebay browsing is the way to go then.
