Having Combiner Wars Optimus in hand, I just wish we were getting a different Motormaster.

 

I hope that Megatron is a production sample. If they actually make him all silver, then I'll get him. The colours look so much better than the previous photos, especially on the legs.

 

Based on the recent Combiner Wars releases, which have more plastic than previous Generations or mainline toys and are chock-full of paint, that might not be the case.

But then again, these may have been designed at the same time as Leader Jetfire, so....

 

In the midst of all these minor complaints, I think that truly would have been dire, if true.

However, I think there IS thigh rotation. It's just a bit hidden because his thighs have big frontal plates that cover the joint...



So yay. It also looks like the Fusion Cannon can flip out to the side of his arm too, so he can use his elbow, and he's not always holding it with an absolutely dead straight arm.

There may be hope for that mold yet!

The cannon is in a hinge, which you can see if you zoom in on the forearm in the new picture.

However at the very least the cannon has to turn round to be facing the right way in tank mode: the bottoms of the arms are the back of the tank and the shoulders are the front.




As to if you can remove it or not......

he looks kinda... puffy? blocky? like a hero masher, almost? it sounds petty, i know, but i just don't know what it is lol

 

I'm curious as to other people thoughts. Does it appear that he may have a very similar transformation to the classics deluxe Megatron? I keep looking at the turret pictured above and looking at his arms in bot mode. The rest of him maybe not so much.

Love that G1 Megatron. Pretty meh to the others.

 

On another note, leader class now apparently means over sized deluxe

 

Much better pics of G1 Megs! But Hasbro kinda butchered Armada Megs, and they didn't even include Leader-1! I understand Starscream couldn't fit a decent Swindle because of size, but this is a leader class figure!

 

How tall is the G1 Megs, (in inches)? Not sure what "Leader" "Voyager" etc mean.

Okay, that Megatron looks GREAT. Way, way better than the promo pics. It looks like they used the same metallic painting process they used for Cybertron Galvatron. Insta-buy!

I still prefer the original Armada Megatron toy though. I wish they'd basically make a new one with working hips and knees... that would be pretty much perfect

 

G1 Megatron looks great in silver; I'm not really understanding the complaints. It's not gaudy like the chrome on Leader Jetfire or a good bit of the past Henkei releases Takara used to do.

Menasor also looks better in these pics as well. I do think it will benefit from Perfect Effect's add-on kit for the feet.

And I just realized the piece they're using for Menasor's chest piece is actually a hilt for Menasor's sword, sweet!
