So happy to hear this. Not only the highest grossing film, but (in my eyes), the best movie of the year by far, followed by Godzilla, Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America. I love how this just jams a knife further into the sides of whiny geewunners and Bayhaters-for-the-sake-of-Bayhating.

No, it's not in any way racist. In fact, I wrote my final college essay on movies, and I included a big part on why AoE's earnings mean very little because of Bay's Chinese pandering. My English instructor thought it was a good point and suggested I expand on it, so I did. Are you saying my college professor is racist?

Well, none of us know they're NOT a racist...

In all seriousness, what your teacher says doesn't really have any meaning here, nor does one have to be a racist to say something that can be seen as or is offensive.

    Why don't Chinese fans/moviegoers "count"?

But, don't other movies pander to the US market?

It's only bad if you don't pander to Americans, though.

Yes, because most U.S. movies are made FOR the U.S.

lol, thank you :)  I'm just trying to be a pro-movieverse voice against so much (a lot of it unwarranted) negativity.

Yeah, alright. You still haven't said why pandering to a Chinese market means very little to the overall earnings. You expanded it for your English instructor? Fine. Expand it for me then.

And I don't know your college professor. For all I know he could spend his weekends drinking beer with his mates whilst wearing pointy white hats reminiscing about the good old days.

So until you elaborate, I stand by what I said, that your comment is borderline racist.

I really was not expecting this at all.

That being said the real winner was as tikgnat had said was Guardians of the Galaxy, the unexpected hit of the summer. If it wasn't for China, AOE would have bombed hard.....real hard. It barely did well in North America.

I guess the moral here is that You Can't Slay the Bay. :bay

But they actually did there job.

Not from what I remember. It did fairly well, maybe a franchise low but that doesn't mean much of anything. It's still the first movie of the year to gross $100 million opening weekend and only Hunger Games was able to top that.

    Why not?

They certainly can count, but I doubt most of them were fans.

Because no one knows him? Because for all any of us know, he doesn't even exist?

I can say my Art teacher loves the movies, but that doesn't mean anything. All we have to believe you is your word, which isn't worth much.

Why? Heck, by your definition, people who like the movies aren't fans. They have to like the original material, then they can be fans.
