Picked up a set along with a set of the Legions. It was these or the new Walking Dead series.....and I probably should have gotten the walking dead figs! I always look for (and usually find) the good parts of figures. For the first time in memory, I haven't come up with much of a reason to recommend these to anyone over the age of 10. Now although the plastic has changed over the years and gotten thinner and lighter, I've never felt it was "KO" quality like so many others have....THESE really feel the closest yet to KO plastic to me! Unlike other lines, I don't believe this plastic will hold up to time and wear very well at all. BB and Grimlock seem to be the more solid. Strongarm is so-so at best with some potential issues with alt mode staying together solidly while Steeljaw is the least solid and his elbows are downright scary. I'm sensing lots of elbows breaking on him. The legion figs are pretty standard...nothing great, but satisfactory for the scale. I'll stick it out for the deluxe Optimus and Sideswipe, but I make no promises after them.
Weird interest in steeljaw because if his wolf/bot hybrid mode, but the main thing that I want is a red repaint of strongarm! Smallfoot... come to papa! Salmoore and fracture have some words to share with you!
I scored a few figures yesterday at TRU, and was able to get them for 50% off thanks to the Kmart sale... I grabbed Steeljaw and Strongarm for myself, was initially only going to get Strongarm cuz I love the fembots, but for half off I couldn't resist Steeljaw. he looks fun, though I haven't opened him yet.
I just got Grimlock and Strongarm at TRU. I am so excited! I stopped collecting for a long time, but these figures got me back collecting.
So I got Strongarm today at TRU and opened her up to find no instructions? What the deuce? So the instructions are just on the cardback? I don't like this at all. Another way of cutting costs for Hasbro, but man does that put a damper in my instruction booklets I keep. Now I have this friggin cardback. Not cool Hasbro. Not cool.
That has been around since 1984 and frankly is a better use of space then giant mistransformed pictures of a toy you can see in package has many less paint operations. We also had instructions on the back during the Kenner run. It is a sign of the simplification, which I think is a good thing. But the designs are very uninspired outside of maybe Steeljaw and they desperately need paint. Seen them but waiting to see what TakaraTomy does with them (they have already teased the line).
