Agreed, I think Classics Prime gets away with it because of his more heroic proportions.

 

Based on the legs, the mold was clearly designed as Optimus and remolded into Motormaster. Both versions have Optimus legs. It certainly makes more sense from our standpoint to be the other way around so I can see why people think that, but this is Hasbro we're talking about.

 

Minimus is a Green dude i don't care about....White and Blue....that would be Magnus.

But as much as i myself don't care for the mold because of the arm kibble and wearing his bumper and grille as a damn backpack / ass guard....Classics Prime is far beyond this fugly ass Prime. At least Classics Prime was properly proportioned, and wasn't just an afterthought to Motormaster.

 

i really liked the previous voyager prime if they would be able to up size it slightly i would never need another prime and this is coming from a guy who has orion

They does annoy me too. Making a shield out of them would have been a neat idea.

 

Of they did that, people would just be complaining that the shield isn't G1 and claim Hasbro purposefully designed those parts to have nowhere else to go because of it.

After seeing Ginrai...the windvane gun works just fine as a shield

i might pass on this one. i just love my fansprojcts upgrade trailer set better then animated, prime, energon, rid/car robots, and wfc versions.

 

I love my fansproject trailer too, but if this is a good (looking) figure, i may get him.

 

For my 2 cents: This could be a redeco/retool of Transformers Prime: 1st Edition Optimus. This would be a more show accurate version that the Magnuses (Magni?) that have been released previously.

Regardless I anxiously await the confirmation and official release. I love the character in all of his many incanations and will be happy to add another iteration to my shelves.

I can see them going the G1 route with the way it looks, wouldn't an IDW UM kind of have a Transformers Prime Ultra Magnus look to it, maybe they didn't want to retread that style???

Very curious if this guy will be good enough to dethrone FP City Commander...

 

I don't think IDW Ultra Magnus looks like his Prime counterpart so I hope it's based on IDW UM.

 

I wouldn't mind a mix of G1 and IDW.
