Not sure if this counts as news or not seeing as the AOE lines are all but over, but thought it was worth mentioning outside of the Movie CGI Renders thread as it gives us the first full body views of the package art for Junkheap and Vehicon as well as sketches for the robot modes of Slug and Scorn from a point when the robot modes of the Dinobots were going to be used on the packaging. There are some nice alternative poses for some of the characters there. There's a packaged Evasion Optimus shown with a deco that matched the art, but I suspect it's a custom.

I find it hilarious how the Evasion Mode Optimus Prime figure they showed was a custom instead of the official one XD

And man oh man, did I wish they'd kept the gun pose on Crosshairs. He just looks great on the defense.

 

Yeah Crosshairs looks cool with his gun there. It's interesting how there's a totally different piece of art altogether for him that appears on the Power Battler and Platinum 5-pack packaging.

It'd be nice to see sketches for the other Dinobots too, as well as the Dino Sparkers art (like Lockdown riding Steeljaw, as I'm guessing the second wave of that line is never going to see the light of day now lol)

The illustration for the "Dino Jousters" looks 1,000,000 times better than the horrible Dino Sparker toys deserve.

It's sweet looking into seeing the unedited art along with the unused art. The AOE line is among my favourite packaging art wise. I understand why they went for the Dinobot's alt modes instead because they're more eye catching and different.

Wow, I've really hated the packaging art for AOE with the running figures, and now I hate it even more seeing how BEAUTIFUL the pencil work is. Those painters absolutely mutilated his drawings.

 

The Deluxe Vehicon that could have been...

 

They look cool but man are they just following the same running pose. I wish they could have mixed up a bit, Scorn is the only one that does so.
