YES. Direct-to-video, of course. Something that is equivalent to the quality of the IDW universe in a live-action film verse is possible, though.

I voted Yes, but I am kinda in the middle. I think if they adapted the first mini series "Infiltration" into a feature film, it could work. It tells it from the human's perspective in the beginning (which Hollywood loves), and it leaves the leaders out until the end. A trilogy of Infiltration, Escalation, Devastation would definitely work IMO, as it features smaller (Comparatively) casts, and characters people are familiar with. As far as the current storylines, I think, while great, they are too complex for theatrical movies. I think as a series of direct to DVD movies, they would work, sure.

Yes, but not a direct adaption, there'd just be too much going on at once unless the studio wanted to go all Marvel Studios and create a universe in the same vein.

I think the best way to approach adapting IDW's Transformers would be a story based on Infiltration/Escalation/Devastation and maybe Maximum Dinobots – minus the Dead Universe and Reapers stuff. The whole secret war with Infiltration Protocols that starts spiralling out of control for both sides into out in the open fighting could make for a great start to a new trilogy.
End the first with both sides thoroughly beaten but the Autobots barely coming out on top.
Last scene before the credits roll: A damaged Megatron sits in the Decepticon bunker/ship seething with rage while being tended to by diagnostic drones and Soundwave and announces the abandonment of the Infiltration Protocols, thus begins The Surge. "All Hail Megatron".

    Or something like that.

I said no, only because the stories themselves couldn't adapt into a hollywood movie format. There would have to be so many changes that it just wouldn't matter either way. Seeing some elements or plot points adapted would be pretty neat, though.

I'd rather see idw adapted into direct to dvd animated films akin to what DC is doing. Release 1 per financial quarter. And tie the Generations toyline into it. One wave of each size class per film.
Begin with Infiltration, Escalation, Stormbringer, and Spotlight vol1 done "Batman Gotham Knight" style

A dedicated voice cast would be nice as well Jeff Combs for Ratchet, Nathan Fillion for Springer, John Dimaggio for Whirl, Kurtwood Smith or Simon Templeman for Megatron.

    ^ yup.

Only animated movies, released either straight to dvd or air on cartoon network. Even an animated series I'd be fine with, but for live action movies... nope. Keep the current movieverse rolling for as long as possible. No reboot is needed anytime soon.

Jeffrey Comnbs as Ratchet and Nathan Fillion as Springer. That's got to happen.

I'd like Ron Perlman to do Overlord.

As an adaptation, it could work, but it would have to wait a few years, after the Bay live-action movies have had some time to be forgotten by the general public.

I actually have an idea for what the teaser trailer would look like.

The actions starts right when the logos show up, as we hear Swerve (voiced by John Mulaney) begin to sing a quest-themed version of the "I Love The World" song from the Discovery Channel. We then cut to a street shot of a live-action IDW-style Cybertron. A CG Swerve (done up comic style with realistic details) casually walks down the road, and transforms. As he drives to his destination, we see him pass by other characters from the "film", like Springer, Nightbeat, Jazz, etc. As Swerve's singing turns into an orchestral version of the song, we see where he's been headed: the launch site of the Lost Light, whose takeoff is just moments away. We then cut to the film's logo as it fades in, followed by a "20(insert year here)" release date.
