Guess that in this universe, the shadowplayed Senator Shockwave didn't have the necessary freedom of movement granted to him by Megatron to carry out his plans.

(Though it's worth pointing out that, given the way the planet is run, I wouldn't be surprised if they dealt with the energy crisis when the Functionist Council turfed the Senate, given how much corruption there was going on.)

Last panel: 664 is twice 332, the number of issues in the UK TF series

 

Since the homages appear to be Unicron-trilogy themed, it's Sparkplug (Armada Optimus Prime's mini-con).

 

It's a Mini-Con from Armada, his name is Sparkplug.

Edit: Omnus got to it a second before I did, haha.

 

Fascinating. I've become really excited for this.

 

So, if that's Sparkplug, does that mean that the guy above him is Shockblast? Maybe this how Bumblbee and Shockwave turn out in this alternate timeline.

 

That Drift preview......god can it get any more cringing? Why does IDW allow McCrappy to write stories just to satisfy his own childish illusions?

 

Hey, since the next issue of MTMTE involves alternate timelines, maybe the Drift miniseries has already been retconned before even the first issue has been released.

You never know...

Oh lordy. This is freaking awesome because I've always been fascinated by the Functionists and their ideaology because it was basically that which started the whole war. So I'm so excited to see more of that but at the same time I'm super worried about bots like Outliers or Rung.

Strangely enough, the senate gave Bots like them some protection from the Functionists but without them… oh Lordy, SUPER WORRIED NOW. They deported the CC's so who knows what they did to the Outliers. And according to Roberts, Rung's very existence is an offence to the Functionists.

What the hell did you do, Brainstorm?!

 

Thing is, since Brainstorm went back and changed history, shouldn't this affect RID as well? Given that they've been in lockstep plot wise so far.

Wow! So many cameos that cant stop smiling! Looks amazing! Really cant wait to read this!  

 

It wasn't noticeable in the first preview, since that only went to page 3, but that Dredd bot resembles someone besides Dredd.

On page 4 when the last Lunabot (Energon Jetfire), shoves him in the back, the Dredd bot's color scheme is fairly reminiscent of Skids (with a switch of the colors on the forearm and hand). The chest also has the same general shape as Skids', and they both have the same knee covers. The head design is also very similar (once you get past the Dredd visor). The enforcer-bots' apparently standard-issue guns also incorporate the design element of Skids' dual forearm guns.

Hopefully they haven't also cribbed Skids' full weapons loadout:
