I like the G1 'con symbol so much I taught myself to draw it from scratch. And that meant "triangles for eyes". It's burned into my brain since 1984. There is one, and only one, true original Decepticon logo. And that's not what's being offered for sale.

(it's irritated me since, oh, probably 1984 as well, that the vast majority of non-toy merchandise, is Autobot-only. Birthday plates, napkins, Xmas ornaments, stickers, lunchboxes, etc. So when something Decepticon IS available I tend to want it---but not when it's been "altered" to look different)

How can the EYES of a FACE not be an "important"/noticeable part of its design?

Now I know where you're coming from, so I can't blame you for identifying the differences as being unappealing. I also desire having Decepticon merchandise but like you said, it's like finding gold dust since most products are geared towards the "good-guys". I can easily overlook the eyes; it legitimately doesn't irritate me and I don't prefer one over the other.

Also, a face (or faces, since the Autobot symbol is also different here) that appears on absolutely everything Transformers. Even if you buy an Autobot, chances are a suggested next purchase on the box will be a Decepticon and you'll see the logo. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but COME ON, ITS FREAKING THE DECEPTICON LOGO. After a kajillion figures and merchandise with the symbols on em... well, I think I've made my point. Maybe some of you are just newer to the fandom or whatever I dunno.

Yeah, I agree, this is a gold in the dust sorta thing, and I probably will still get it coz it would look sick on my wall.

how do you turn it on? wouldnt mind it as a detolf backlight but thatd'd be crazy annoying if the switch is on the back or not on a cord.

Well, it's not going to be on a cord obviously since it is battery powered. I'd like to see a small switch on the side because if it's on the back, yeah, that's going to be a total PITA. Maybe somebody who has one of the existing Marvel ones can comment on where it is located?

I was wondering that myself. I definitely want that Autobot version at least.

Still not showing up on target.com. Not sure if they sell these things in-store or not.

I asked 3D Light Fx about it on FB and they said these will not be available until the holiday season.

Looks like the movie versions (Prime, Bee and Grimlock) are now available in stores, saw them at Target yesterday. Checked Target's site and looks like the Autobot and Decepticon ones will not be sold in stores and are not available online (yet).

Prioritizing the ugly faces instead of the TF symbols seems pretty stupid marketing by them. Thanks to BBTS though I'm not worried whenever they decide to get their asses in gear.

Definitely a no buy for me, however for the people that are building custom cosplay suits, these could be a really cool gimmick

NEEEED that autobot logo in my life! Plan on doing some weathered detail painting on it, then installing magnets in the base. Remake the cracked sticker design on a window cling film. Install that on the hood of my car for car shows. ^_^ Kinda thinkin the Optimus one might be fun too after some serious paint work on it. Its just too plain!

My Target had them right across the aisle from the toys so I can tell who their target market is. I thought about going the BBTS route to save myself the hassle but I was trying to avoid the $10 markup on each one. Now that I know these aren't going to be carried in the stores I will just wait until they show up on their site I guess.

For anyone interested, both logo lights are now available to order online at target.com. $30 each and free shipping so way better deal than BBTS.

I received my order from Target. These are quite nice considering the $30 pricepoint and bigger than I expected. Very impressed.
