See, I think this has to be the most compelling evidence for the whole "House of M" present-day rewrite via past interference theory.

Looking back to MTMTE 34, and looking at the preview, I can't see anything "life-changing" that would have been given away aside from Trailcutter's fate.

However, a mid-issue twist that this is in fact the PRESENT rather than the PAST is a different story, and could then segway into going back in time to stop Brainstorm.

...and I just had a sudden thought - if the time travel theory is true, who says that this is a result of MEGATRON being taken out of the equation? What if that's a misdirect and it's instead Orion Pax who is neutralized, if the "altering the past" theory is indeed true? Much as Megatron had a huge impact on the war in the early days, it was his alliance with Pax that allowed him to stop Zeta from genociding away the Decepticons, ultimately.

Honestly though, I gotta admit I kinda hope I'm way off-base with this theory, given it's less "this is totally what Roberts is doing" and more "wouldn't it be cool if this was what he was setting up."

There's no such thing as Energon Springer, that's Bulkhead. I'm pretty certain the Red Alert looking dude is Armada Smokescreen. But I think Aramda Blurr might be correct.

 

he may be right i think bulkhead was springer in japan but i may be wrong. he's an homage at the very least.


but that third page is glorious for the cameos alone im still looking at it! i think i see an energon tow line as well.

i want a judge dredd bot so bad now. some third party designer just ruined his pants and is drawing it up. if not someone better start now

 

I don't think this is an alternative present day or future, going by what they are talking about and such does sound like pre-war Cybertron, it could be an alternative past granted but Im not so sure. Also it's possible they gave Luna-2 away millions of years ago but during the war it might have been abandon, couldn't imagine anyone wanting it with the Cybertronian war going on so close. But yea this is MTMTE so anything possible so guess it's a wait and see.

Also found this:

So could be possible the Decepticons reclaimed Luna 2 which could very well been an strategic advantage for them in the war.

If he's warped the timeline it might explain why he did/could have been a spy - playing both sides to get what he needs for his own agenda. Hopefully Roberts will keep hold of this one, unlike Shockwave's arc which ended in that whole Dark Cybertron mess - keep 'em at arms length James!

Considering the Primal Vanguard seem to be no more in this flash back, it seems to put the era where the attempt assassination on Nominus Prime takes place and the Clampdown is initiated. This assuming this isn't a changed history of course. So this story seems to be taking place around the time of Shadowplay.

 

I was under the impression that pre-war Cybertron was kinda militarized. And I was also he impression that no one wanted nothing to do with Cybertronians because of their predisposition towards war and expansionism, at least during the Nova era.

 

Nova era was sort of a peaceful time for Transformers, at least for the common Cybertronian anyway, sometimes it been referred to the last Golden Age.

Think other species cut of ties with Cybertron after the Great War broke out, but sounds like from these couple of pages biological races seem to treat mechanical races as a second class race of their own.

Luna 2 has a mineral that organic races have a use for so sounds like that is why they gave them mining rights to Luna 2, to keep the peace and not start a war.
