At first I wasn't sold on the figure, the face sculpt just didn't look right - but the painted version just looks great, not sure if the sculpt changed or what, but it looks kickass now.

Wow, impressive. Is the prevalent theory that this guy seems to be getting a hyper-accelerated release schedule to beat any potential Tak V2 to market?

 

No reason to think it's hyper accelerated....Quakewave sets precedent for something being kept under wraps, test shot then boom. We dont really know how long they've been working on this.

 

He looks like such a bruiser. Way better than existing MP megs.

 

Not mine. My theory is this looks so damn good, and will make Xtb so much $$$$ that they want it on the market before Hastak can mobilize a legal strike against it. Once it's in the wilds of grey market goods, Hastak is powerless.

 

I'd think a Takara Megatron V2 is a certainty. And when it comes out, even the ones here saying that they wouldn't buy it would eventually buy because no matter what, you can't beat the TFS (Tampoed Faction Symbol) technology.

 

Definitely looks better than the takara version. And looks more solid too. Hopefully nothing will break in transformation.

 

He exudes Megatron so much it is hard to believe. If the quality is there how could you not buy this? I'm really impressed. There is some real talent out there.

If I was TakaraTomy I'd hire the FansToys designer and whoever did this and start pumping out more official MP releases.

 

Man that crotch piece looks terrible, really takes away from the whole thing.

I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop here, but the more they show of him, the better he looks! I really do struggle to see how TT could design something that looks as good and is as show-accurate.

 

The lower legs do look really intricate... I am guessing a long involved transformation there.

 

Looking at the pic of him straight forward you can see the cannon is not that big, it was just a distortion from the angle of the earlier pics that made it seem bigger than it was. Now all the people that were complaining about his cannon being too big from early pics have suddenly be silenced.

 

I still want MP Magnus but the pics of him actually convinced me to buy Stack. And I don't regret it a bit. I could see something similar happening with an MP Megatron. Tired of waiting for Takara to feel like doing it and this one looks like it will be hard to top.

Being among the few who actually like MP5 (warts & all), I do like this. The head sculpt is very good, and the overall proportions look about right. QC is vital to any figure this complex and undoubtedly, expensive; I look forward to video reviews.
It seems to be a vast improvement over MP5, but I remain cautiously neutral for now. I do wish he was chromed though.

 

That looks spot on to me.

 

Everything below the waist looks awkward and wrong. The entire leg section looks like its too small, kind of like when homer has his bottom torso cut off and replaced with tiny robot child legs. On top of that, the legs are too far apart from each other. Elbow joints look a little too small compared to the heft of the shoulders and forearms too, but that could be overlooked if that leg portion wasn't so awkward.
