Loving Superion. Not quite as enamored with Menasor but I am definitely getting both anyways! I never thought that the G1 Menasor looked all that great in pictures, but once I had him in hand I thought he was awesome.

This looks pretty damn good. Nice that they finally got a good combiner while keeping the scramble-city gimmick. Can't wait for in-hand photos with more flattering poses then kind of gormlessly standing there.

Looks no better than vintage imo, but maybe the articulation will make it awesome.

I am willing to get them and then pay for a 3P do de-turd them. Sure I would like something a little better out of the box, but they aren't terrible by any means, and I don't mind having multiple "classic" versions of characters. Damn it, I still need TFC Superion.

Not bad, I just wish the ariealbots didn't have the same color scheme, I honestly can't tell them apart most of the time, though I dont have the same problem with the constructicons, maybe because they have unique alt modes...

Pfft! As great as it is to be able to physically spot a highly anticipated figure at TRU or Walmart, I've lost all faith in retail. It took over 3 months to finally get a sighting of Legends Tailgate and Scrapnel in my area. So I am not playing that game with these combiners.

Now figures that I'm kinda on the fence about, sure. But the Aerialbots and Stunticons are all going to be in a box waiting at my door when I get home.

Those are sporting some nice art. Seems they're not coming with comics now though.

cos both teams are completed in the next wave. And because the Aerialbot in the next deluxe wave is a remould.

    I'd have had 2 + 2.

Airaid is a remould of Skydive - look at the legs

When they did the Energon combiners you got

    Deluxe Waves
    1 - 2 Aerialbots & 2 Constructicons
    2 - 2 Combaticons & the the final 2 Aerialbots
3 - the final 2 Constructicons and the final 2 Combaticons.

Personally I prefer to see all parts of a combiner on sale at once.

Famously when the RID Combaticons were out in the UK the torso was exclusive to Woolworths with the Build Team..... and after they'd finally cleared through the limbs became available everywhere and did their very best BW Clawjaw/BW Cybershark/BM Optimus impersonation by shelfwarming for ages.cos you couldn't get the torso to build the combined robot!

the new superion picture nicely shows off the pegs holes for the guns and enables you to work out how the hands/feet transform from one to the other when put together with the display we saw previously

    So....

The 5mm post is used as a gun handle and an attachment post.

Laid flat it's a gun, with the thumb forming a heel spur.

Turn it the other way up and bend the thumb up and it's a gun.

Lay it flat again with the post pointing up. bend the heel spur down to form the thumb. Fold the piece the 5mm peg is attached to down to plug into the wrist and to reveal the 5mm socket fold the fingers out.

    Best combined limb hand/foot ever.

I also like that there's an actual hole in the hand so weapons won't fall out every time you repose them.

In fireflys art there's an aircraft carrier in the background. Nice touch.

They're getting comics in the US, as before. These photos are of non-US samples, as evidenced by the multi-lingual packaging.

Pretty damn striking packaging this time around. I'm assuming they are just package samples, as the art gets pretty pixely when viewed full size.
