Out of curiosity, if this guy is a total dick about it and puts a really high value on the postage labels & it gets snagged by customs, but like sensible gents we don't want to pay the comedy Admin Fee for an empty box, i assume we can ask to open it at the sorting office prior to paying the customs charge and decline delivery on the grounds that it's junk?
YES YOU CAN... I thought about that and if we reject it do to customs will we get our money back?... but by rights we can open and inspect it first and well recording it all if it was a dud we can refuse the item and we will have it all on video and can prove to ebay/paypal... that I was a scam... PLEASE all record and keep track of all papers just in case
What I'm confused about here (assuming it's dodgy) is why does the guy need to send an item in the first place? When I sell stuff on ebay I can mark as shipped without any proof. Why go to the hassle of sending a jumper?
Expect to receive a santa hat, but maybe you can get a better one, sweater is nice tho , relax the seller won't be a dick by putting high value on the customs form, they even mark it as gift. I've been scammed by this kind of seller, please read their feedback, they sold non TF related items to achieve such feedback and the 2 positive feedbacks for the MP-10B looks like fake too. But if any of you really received even a factory error products, a KO, a MP 10B with missing parts. I will jump in
Paypal wants proof that an item is delivered, which is only possible with a track & trace code. If a seller can't provide proof that a package was delivered to the address of the buyer, Paypal will rule against seller in practically all cases, allowing a chargeback to the buyer. If your are (legitimately or not) sending out stuff without any proof of shipping, you are setting yourself up to get burned by Paypal chargebacks. Now, if a package IS proven to have been delivered, the buyer will have the burden of proof against him. The seller can always claim that the buyer is lying about the package containing the wrong item. It makes the whole transaction much messier, giving the seller more time to collect his money from PayPal and clean out his account before he gets shut down.
I asked him if he could lower the value on the box to avoid delays by customs (never to avoid paying taxes, but simply to avoid weeks of shipping delays -- customs can be very slow, especially this time of the year) and he replied with: "Don't worry about taxes" This either means that a) he will put a lower value on the box, or b) there will never be any box. Time will tell...
Makes sense, thanks! Interestingly, my item has been marked as shipped (Delivery service Standard International Flat Rate Postage), but there is no tracking number.
Oh, he will sent a box or an envelope with low value, in case of the item is not what you expect, they will promise to send another item while begging not to give bad feedback, because like Alldarker said, seller needs time to clean out his account. My advice, if the seller sent you the different item, take a pic with the box/envelope with seller's address and do charge-back with paypal, they are more cooperative. Ebay will ask you to return the item to the seller and need you to prove it by giving the postal tracking #. you may ask him the tracking #, he will gladly give it to you and you can track it down using 17track.net or something like that.
His first negative feedback just arrived. No Xmas jumpers for us apparently It wasn't me, so I dunno if anything was sent
meh, it's not unreasonable to expect that it hasn't arrived yet based on the sales date, but obviously this is probably to good to be true. that feedback should get negative feedback as it's a shitty one.
Vendor has their first neg for a 'Where's my Transformer?' Although it's Leader Sentinel Prime in this case.
lol latest negative review; Saw it coming which is why I only asked in the KO Optimus Prime thread. I didn't want members jumping on a scam. This thread was started and everyone jumped on board. Oh well what's done is done. Start those paypal dispute's.
That feedback is still shit. You don't start with a complaint to Paypal. You open a case on eBay. Makes sense that a childish moron would post feedback like that, I guess.
That feedback was for an item that ended 18 Oct, 2014. I'm not sure I would have expected the item to have arrived yet. Is anyone going to open a case on ebay yet?
I am waiting for my item to arrive, check the contents then if it doesn't fit the description either open a claim or keep it since even for a KO the price is really fair. It all depends on the contents.
Just genuinely curious: why not open the dispute with PayPal first? Just asking in case I need to know in the future.
Waiting for this is silly. It's never going to arrive. It was obvious from the start that it's a scam. I mean he's sold over 150 of these since September 20th. The buyers who bought them from that date are approaching the 45 days. I imagine the negative feedback is going to start rolling in soon. I'm opening a case with paypal. I'm glad I only paid $26. Fuck this thread. Feel bad for everyone that purchased.
no need to feel bad as long as we all open a case way before the point of no return time period we will be ok
