I agree that this guy isn't 100% toon accurate (feet and some small details), but I took another look at some pics of the old cartoon, and he's not that far off. His thighs are a little thin, but toon Astrotrain also didn't have a crotch plate. Looking forward to seeing some physical protos and comparison pics with other figures.

RK has this for only 119.99. The 40 bucks that US retailers are sticking up people's butts is starting to look ridiculous. And please, mass shipping means a big discount. US retailers are probably paying 10 dollars per figure for shipping.

While both my and WingHeaven's answers about this not being MP are technically correct we both left out a very important caveat. In the end every collector has to decide for themselves whether they feel a figure is MP worthy. If you consider it an MP, then for you it is and screw everyone elses opinions.

How much is shipping to the US? I would imagine that will cover a fair amount of the $40. Probably not all, though I would eliminate the possibility.

See this is why I get tired arguing about shipping?

RK charges 33.49 for shipping ONE figure. I understand and accept that shipping charge.

BBTS + TFSource and every other monkey in NA ships by the caseload (container load even) and it's not number of figures * 33.49. It's tough explaining to people who don't work anywhere near retail or what have you that when you buy a lot or ship a lot you tend to get quite a big discount. N.A retailers should pass that savings to us.

Astrotrains wings were also grey with a purple trim.

This looks great, but I am not keen on the front of the shuttle mode. It reminds me of a bullet train like his classics toy, more than a space shuttle.

Can't choose between this and Toyworlds though

I saw Toy Worlds Devilstar (Astrotrain) in person at the convention, imo I believe this one looks better. So far Chigurh has my money, but still early in the game.

Gotta say, I'm impressed out how both the alt modes conceal the other alt modes kibble. Robot mode has good likeness to to cartoon as well. My one nit-pick (for now) is the landing gear sticking oddly forward instead of being concealed by tucking under in shuttle mode. Other than that, I did it (so far).

It's kind of funny that you mentioned the color of his wings, because I noticed that at first, too. Then I saw an animated gif with him on the moon or some barren planet, transforming into a train, and it's the exact opposite. Purple wings with grey trim. And that train, while an old school and not a bullet train, didn't have a smoke stack, either. Gotta love the old school cartoon Inconsistencies, but then again, that was a lot of the charm of the cartoon.

Sounds like "Blaster Blues". Not my favorite episode, but it had a key scene where I fell for Omega Supreme.

this looks pretty cool.. but, it'd fit better with generations figures.. it's not accurate enough to fit in with masterpiece figures, and it's overly detailed. there's just too many molded details for it to fit in. it just doesn't fit the aesthetic. it would look great with generations figures though.

I like ToyWorld's and DX9's. They both have design aspects going for each one, and I like both companies as far as quality goes (zero issues with either one so I'll preorder this once that is live). Whichever one is bigger because I want Space-ChooChoo to be big.

Did a quick thread search for the word waist, so I think this hasn't been confirmed. On BBTS' listing it says it is "twistable" which I interpret as a waist swivel. The rest of the quote is old, but I wanted to include a complete sentence.

"This figure contains die-cast metal parts, the waist is twistable and the wheels rotate."

The train mode reminds me of a fireless locomotive given the boiler design. That and a pseudo Big One from Galaxy Railways.

Still hoping to get him up when given the chance.

Oooh he has actual hip joints they're just hidden behind that panel. Awesome.

I was worried he couldn't actually move his legs for a bit haha.
