Yup. I have Stax for that reason. I forwent Crank in favor of Cubex Huffer.

Sidenote: With Stax you get 2 really cool pistols that look great (and fit) in MP Prowl's hands.

Hey guys any suggestions on the loose hips/thighs? And locking his vehicle mode down better?

Yep I have labels on mine. I was also wondering about locking the vehicle mode in better somehow. The hips on mine are loose, not to the point he can't stand but they could be tighter.

He vehicle mode seems super loose bc of his hips and waist, as a vehicle he bends in the middle too much and the waist causes the wheels in the back to turn too much.
He's not standing very stably either, every so often just falls back.
    Any advice guys?

You can try tightening the screws on his crotchplate, that will affect (not effect, they're different words!! (sorry, ranting about that is a habit (where was I? oh, yeah))) his hips. Do it a little bit at a time, as you don't want to overtighten it and strip the screwholes - like most screws put into plastic, these are self-tapping, which means the threads on the screws are cutting into the plastic. That's not a big deal, but you don't want to wear away everything the screws are biting into! Anyway, do a little, test it, do a little more, etc. My guys used to slowly lean backwards over time, but with those screws tightened they've been standing just fine for several weeks now.

The vehicle mode will flex, unfortunately, but if you get his hips a bit tighter it's not too bad.

I'vthqsk appreciate it, it Lao wrapped a very small amount of black electrical tape along the legs once I removed the crotch plate, that seems to have helped
As for vehicles mode I've come to accept his gun on the underside is essential for stabilization of this mode

I opened mine about a half hour ago and the screw hole for his left arm is all jacked up and won't stop wobbling and affects the transformation. Big let down for me.

OK, so...I'm just a little late to the game where Stax is concerned. I've been eyeing him for a very long time and finally pulled the trigger.
Out of the box he was a hot mess...arms popping off at the shoulder, hips loose enough so that he couldn't support the back pack, one of the rear wheels so loose it wouldn't stay put and the bottom of the stacks (he he he) didn't fit into the port on the back of the cab. Ohh, yeah...lets not forget one of the side mirrors missing. OMG, what a cluster f**k!!

Now the good news; I've been able to fix every problem with relative ease...little superglue (and tiny bit of surgery) on the hips and those are fixed, a bit of Future on the shoulders, widening the port in the back of the cab, tightening the pins on the rear wheels and an email with a rapid response from BBTS for a replacement side mirror. A little ingenuity turns a frown upside down!!

Now all I have to do is add a few paint details here and there...and there (I knew this going in) and Stax will be an awesome little autobot!!

    Pics when I'm all done...

Personally I love Stax as my Pipes...

Not sure who did it, but I had saved this picture of a custom painted one that looked pretty awesome if you're looking for inspiration:

This is my preferred combo. Gotta look into some detail paints, cuz that Pipes looks a lot better than mine ;)

OK, everyone...I finally finished my Stax/Pipes. I know its not easy to see but I did try to break up all the color of the blue plastic with a darker shade on the mid-section and the mask.

^^ Looks fantastic, the break-up is subtle which I think works well (like FP did in the early years)

Did you sturdy up the hips as well? He's standing nice and straight!

I just got Axis (the Shafter/Pipes mold) this Christmas. His arms came off right away when opening the cab. That was very alarming. The hips are almost unasable they are so loose. His upper thighs are tremendously loose also. He looks cool, but I'm very disappointed.

What's the best way to tighten up the hip joints?

There's one on eBay, but it's PRICEY. I'm just going to wait (likely indefinitely) for the FT version of Huffer.
