So far the best looking transforming megs by far. Hastak needs to learn some shit. But as good as it looks proportionally, there are still a lot of parts that can be improved. The lower legs and feet are my biggest disappointments. Its got nothing on ultimetal but this one actually transforms.

If hastak does a v2 Meg and it looks worse than this I will have lost all respect for hastak.

That is Masterpiece scale right? I hope so, because if it were Classics-scale I'd be tempted to get it. I'm happy with Hegemon, but this guy looks amazing.

The problems with Hasbro's Megatron will be A. Size and B. The legs are too thin from the side. It'll be the best Megatron done by Hasbro but it'll still be too small to fit MP10 given the AOE Leaders and Jetfire

The pics look like there is a ton of diecast/metal. Or maybe that's just reflection. This guy's going to have to feel hefty for me to want to commit.

Why are there still no 3rd Party Beasties, but every company releases multiple versions of the same G1 characters that Hasbro is putting out? This is why I have YET to buy any fucking 3rd Party figures! I would be all over a show accurate Blackarachnia in a heartbeat, something Hasbro will never do, but how many Blasters and Predakings do I really need to choose from when I can just get Hasbro's? Makes no sense to me

Shapeways offers a number of materials. If you're looking for the smoothest, there are the detail plastics, which are limited in color (black, white, transparent) and would require painting. Next down in smoothness are the polished Strong and Flexible plastics. These are the most 'play ready' types, but they are in only one color. There's a slight porous texture to them, they're not shiny, but a burst of clear-cote would help that out.

The full color option that's presently available is a rough sandstone like texture. It is heavy, solid and inflexible, to the point that I make sure there's separate files for it because articulation really doesn't work with that material. While it isn't ultra-smooth or glossy it does look very nice for a display piece, it's also one of the cheapest options.

Shapeways is working on a full color plastic option but right now it is only available to select makers and it can't be sold to general users as the material itself is in beta. The full color T-Rex is made from that material. It can have moving parts, is waterproof and has good color to it. As soon as it's available for general sale it will be available on all my Combat Creature designs (including the minis).

This is an evolving technology, one that's only going to get better as time goes on. There are a lot of advantages, from being able to do design revisions in minutes rather than months, for instance. Heck, provided it is just a 1-to-1 color swap, creating a redeco takes about 30-45 minutes, including upload time and processing.

Right now, there's two planned versions through the Shapeways SuperFanArt project, a 2" version and a 3" version.

Ok after seeing that Xtransbot Megatron live and in person, I'M SOLD!!! I don't know if Hasbro/Takara can top that one. Even the face sculpt up close is right on.

True enough in regards to MP scale I guess. I don't plan to collect any MP scaled figures exclusively, just some to fit into the classics collection.

I was also talking about the other 3rd party Megatron shown off, not the one that's already up for pre-order. I feel Apollyon has legs that are too far apart from each other at the thighs, and I feel the head is too big. Definitely much nicer detailing, but those super thin shoulder joints make it look kinda crappy. Sorry for reining on your parades, I don't even plan to ever own an MP sized Megatron. Larger Voyager is perfect for me. Megatron doesn't have to be the biggest robot ever among the Decepticons.

No way they make a December shipment. It's not even 100% finished.

Please point me in the direction of Predaking from Hasbro. Also since when are options a bad thing? Sorry that you have some limited list of figures you would want from third parties. I'd rather not wait on Takara to get around to all of the dinos, Huffer , Shockwave, etc. Hell we only managed one dino from fall of cybertron in official form. There are many third party figures out there that don't have any recent official versions.

Regarding the Megatron, I'm hoping we end up with a situation similar to what we had with Citizen Stack and the unveiling of MP Ultra Magnus. By that I mean, we soon find out that Takara is releasing a new MP Megatron and it kicks this one's tail across the galaxy. :)

Wow that Gigapower Snarl is huge. Might have to pick him up after all.

And very impressed with the Toyworld Dinobots. So many dino's only so much money.
