Well Winter Soldier was good, Thanos(even though he isn't quite the main villian of the movies but he seems menacing), and Ultron of course well its my opinion but I didn't find Loki all menacing he was okay compare to Bane in Dark Knight Rises Bane was more superior. But yea I agree with you about the other villians like Mandarian and Red Skull.

Yeah and i don't consider the winter soldier a villian, more of an anti-hero villian, but still, thanos loki and ultron are about all the mcu has had to offer.

Thanos hasn't even fucking done anything in the MCU yet. Apart from sitting is that boring ass chair, saying "get me a purple pebble".

I think assuming Ultron will be better than lockdown is safe to say. It's taken 4 movies, that is FOUR movies to get a villain you think is suitable in the TF movies. AoU will knock it out of the park first try, be more memorable, and will endure through pop culture for decades. CGI does not make a classic film, regardless what you think it will become outdated. Then what do the TF films have to stand on..? Great characters, engaging story? No. No they don't. TF films will be forgotten by everyone else other than those who defend them now. They made spider man movies in the late 70's to 80's... There's a reason they don't replay those. They're just not good for the franchise, your precious TF movies will be viewed the same once the next reboot happens.

Personally, design wise Lockdown takes the throne in that area.

As far as his characterization, most likely it'll be more than what Lockdown received.

The movie hasn't come out yet and people are already saying that Ultron is going to be better than Lockdown it's just a teaser trailer yes I do know that Ultron is going to be menacing but this is just a trailer wait until it comes out in theaters.

You mean the wash-out who has never been the main villain of any of the four films?

Oh, and to say otherwise is to be ignorant of the films:

TFTM: Megatron is only the leader, for most of the film he's an immobile ice cube and he never actually orders anybody around other than Starscream the one time. Arguably, Blackout is the main bad guy as he starts the film off like a badass and is the one who destroyed the Beagle 2 rover, and his symbiotic partner Scorponok pins down the SOCCENT survivors for a good little while as well.

ROTF: I'm guessing the main bad guy is the one in the film title.

DOTM: Sentinel. Megatron is so pathetic at this point that Sentinel beats him around like his bitch, and it takes the token damsel in distress to verbally smacktalk him to his senses and just shoot Sentinel in the back like he should have done much earlier.

AoE: You're telling me a worn-out idiot who gets his ass handed to him twice before vanishing for the rest of the film is the main bad guy over Lockdown, much less Loki who technically is King of Asgard right now despite having been repeatedly bodyslammed into submission back in Avengers?

You mean the Megatron that was killed by a teenager? The Megatron that was licking the boots of The Fallen rather than just killing The Fallen himself? The Megatron that got weak and pathetic that the eye candy of the film can talk smack to him because apparently Megatron can no longer swat the things that annoy him?

Loki has managed to pull off some plans while Megatron has accomplished what other than the token Autobot death in the film? Red Skull is stopped but HYDRA goes to the long plan the whole organization doesn't collapse without Red Skull.

    Fluh?!
You mean the guy who has earned the reputation as 'Worst Megatron Ever'?
The robot who's can't even fly without getting confused, and crashing into something?
The Megatron who let Sam kill him?
The only Megatron in any TF series who is only SECOND in command of the Decepticon army?
The same Megatron who let Sentinel Prime boss him around?
The Megatron who just stood there and let Optimus Prime plant an ax in his head?
Probably movie Megatrons ONLY accomplishment was turning Sentinel Prime to the darkside, and that immediately back fired on him...
Galvatron....well he did much better than I expected him too....
    Worst. Megatron. Ever.

But yes, to get back on topic, if Marvel had control the Transformers movies, I would love to see a crossover with the Avengers.

Hell even if you compare Bayside Megatron to Animated Movie Megatron, Bayside Meg's is a little b$$$h. Animated Movie Megatron led a small team of Decepticons that essentially killed off almost the entire 84/85 cast of Autobots and decimated Metroplex. People talk about feeling bad for Bayside Ratchet, I still get choked up over G1 Ironhide's demise.

Bay Megs is a flawed, human, tragic villain who's also a genius planner, even if, befitting his status as a villain, fails. He's as good a villain as the best of the MCU's.

Pssh. Just because someone has to be the designated butt end to every one else's nature as a wish fulfillment badass doesn't automatically make that character deep. It's just a contrast.

Or Megatron from Transformers Prime. In the episode where Prime wasn't around Megatron managed to defeat the entire Autobot team by himself. When Prime lost his cool and got blinded by rage Megatron came close to killing Prime.

Uh.... What about his ingenious plan to be reborn as Galvatron TFA style? He had no one on his back and he practically pretended to be controlled by humans and lead a new army.

The ingenious plan where he got his head split in half and then salvaged by lunatic humans? That was intentional?

Making lemonade out of lemons, perhaps, but ingenuous plan it's not.
