Last I read, Bay said he was passing the Transformers movies torch to someone else. So unless he changes his mind and comes back, or until they find a new director/team to replace Bay should he not come back, production on T5 isn't happening anytime soon. So waiting until 2017 or later, is probably a good idea, in order to give time to settle the issue of who's making the movies for Paramount and Hasbro. Also giving time for whichever movie team that comes in, to write the scripts and get production in order.

It's as if the movie has to be made for us to watch it.

Sad part is, they don't even take the full 3 years. They wait until the minimum amount of time needed for production, which is why the stories are shoddy and the effects unfinished.

To give Michael Bay some breathing room so he'll come back.

Because right now the domestic market is burnt out on Transformers.

Hopefully down the line it can stir up more revenue in a few years.

It really didn't feel like they dropped the marketing in the US. They put out some really good trailers for Age of Extinction, ran lots of TV ads, and all the other things a studio normally does to make a big opening weekend.

Perhaps what they need is some sort of new hook to lure viewers back.

It actually takes 2 years to make a Transformers film. But that 1 year is for Michael Bay to make a small film. Assuming that Michael Bay is back for the 5th time. He will take 1 year to work on his small film and then the other 2 years will be for Transformers 5

I think 3 years is fine, Mr Bay needs time to pursue other interests otherwise he'll be fatigued on this franchise and the quality will suffer (myself being of the opinion that these films have action unlike any other film ever made.)

I have a feeling once the film series gets rebooted we are going to get a lot of spin offs, as well as the main series of films. That's what a lot of film series are doing these days anyways

We had a great tf movie, DOTM.
Sure aoe was weak, but now they can come back at full speed and knock those super hero movies of the pedestal people wrongly place them on.

Because they need to figure out where the hell the movies can possibly go, because it's not gonna be space. Hasbro's on a live-action film high addiction and it's cheaper to make live-action when it's on terra firma and not in space.

And no, just because the "Creators" are a thing doesn't mean that's an actual planned out detail, it's an open-ended thread that was used as a stupid excuse to get Lockdown to do shit in the first place and for a poor man's way of trying to connect the films because nobody can honestly say AoE bothered to even hint at what the hell the Creators are even doing. The plot could go anywhere and there's no chance it couldn't be against what was said at the end of AoE, because nothing was said at all.

Uh, given they still haven't booted Kruger's ass from the script writing job, there's literally no reason to expect him to do anything better than AoE at best. He even admitted he makes shit up as he goes along, there is no long-term planning, there is no set end-point to build towards, he just doesn't care.

And who are you to judge what people think and what movies they put on pedestals? Just because the majority of the film-viewing public likes those super hero movies more than Transformers films doesn't give you the right to call them all "wrong" for disagreeing with you.

That's the first step to rocket transformers into the top movie slot, get rid of Kruger.

Step two will be to disregard aoe and pick up where DOTM left off, will the original cast.

Right now I'm not sure that even a bad superhero movie could knock the superhero films out of being a domestic juggernaut.

We've had a bad movies that have hurt an individual franchise, such as Spiderman 3 being so bad that it hurt the box office for the rebooted Amazing Spiderman. But a bad Spiderman movie, a bad Green Lantern movie, and bitterness about two Superman movies hasn't been enough take down superhero movies in general.

Perhaps too much of our pop culture is wrapped around comic books because it seems like there was a point when almost every kid was reading at least one comic book, watching one of the superhero cartoons, or one of the many live action superhero shows over the years.

Yes, and you're entitled to hold that opinion, but that doesn't mean other people are objectively wrong for enjoying superhero films more than the Transformers films.

That does not sound like a good idea, something I've seen AOE be praised for, was for not being a complete reboot, and being a "proper" follow up to the last film.
