Looks great to me! I don't want it enough to throw that many rupees into the pond, but it does look pretty snazzy.

 

Hegemon is nowhere near MP-quality, and this mould is seven years old and is getting a symmetrical robot out of a faithful Walther p-38 gun mode. Hegemon's just a made-up gun and still has a boring robot mode that looks ten years older than it is. I'll take a billion MP5 Megatrons over a single Hegemon anyday as my real Megs.

 

the gold is probably to match the yellow corrosion from touching the chrome parts. lol

 

Ew. Easiest pass in a long time. Gold? No.

 

A chance? Yes. The way the world is these days, it is becoming more and more difficult to justify a gun as a toy. I get it. Hopefully Takara can still pull it off and make it a better mold as a gun, but I can definitely see them doing a tank, which would put the proverbial 'nail in the coffin' for ever getting an MP gun Megatron. This is all speculation on my part so take it with a grain of salt

Know what would be funny? If the figure was molded in gold plastic instead of being painted. That and lead paint are the only bad attributes missing from this turd of a figure.

Wait. Are we sure MP-05 doesn't have lead paint? Quick, someone pick the leg of theirs out of the pile of collapsed failure and do a lead test.

Takara doesn't seem to release pointless MP repaints as much as Hasbro, but when they do, they make me ask "Why?" just as much as stuff like YOTG Soundwave.

I mean, unless you like golden guns or metallic gold paint... there isn't really a draw here. Even ignoring the size, Megatron is a figure that did not age well at all what with its spindly limbs and loose joints, especially when compared to newer MPs which are pretty much all well-defined and solid as a rock. That being said, I hope it finds its audience, as any extra money for the MP series rocks, no matter how it comes about. Unless it comes about via like, crime and stuff  

 

Golden Gun Megatron is kind of lackluster deco, and considering my feelings toward the mold.

It's a indefinite pass.
