I've only seen preview pages, but unique design or not, I'm pretty sure IDW TC isn't a huge hulking 'bot. I have to agree with the sentiment that a leader class TC is wildly inappropiate.

And I too would rather have seen the Jetfire remold choice gone to someone more appropiate for the size class. Thunderwing would've been aces. Or, and it's a stretch, Sky Shadow. Which woud've given IDW an excuse to introduce him in the comics.

I'm sure there's plenty other big bot jets too.

I would've preferred Thunderwing or Blackshadow too, but I'm still pretty happy with the result.

But Blackshadow/Sky Shadow is already in the comics. He was a Phase Sixer that betrayed the Decepticons and thus was tortured and killed by the Decepticon Justice Division. He had his Generations body in the flashbacks prior to his death.

I don't think I'd want a Thunderwing from this mold; his color scheme is kinda boring, and would only seem more so when supersized. Give me a rich blue Thundercracker any day. :)

That Thundercracker looks pretty good, very IDW. I'm liking it!

Dinking around trying to figure out what I am buying next year looking through the photos, and I just can't get myself to accept this Huffer. Just don't see it as something remotely interesting as a repaint of that mold. Goofy choice.

Starscream and Skywarp never had that alt mode?

*I have not read a lot of the IDW comics between Escalation and MTME/RID volume 1*

Nope, there was concept art of them all, but Thundercracker's the only one to use the body on-page. IIRC Starscream and Skywarp stuck to their MP-03 bodies for all of Costa's run (where this body was introduced) and now Starscream is in his Armada body and Skywarp has a new, different, jet mode, so Thundercracker is once again the only one using the body.

Nope. Starscream and Skywarp remained in their MP-style F-15 bodies from AHM for the duration of the Ongoing series (except when Starscream was drawn in his old "-ation" F-22 body for one issue, but then that was to be expected for that series). Thundercracker was the only one to use Guido's Ongoing Seeker design.

    Damn, ninja'd.

Eh? I'm 95% certain that once Starscream returned to Earth in the ongoing, he was consistently drawn with the new Seeker design (albeit Don Fig's version rather than the Guidi one seen on the Thundercracker toy).

I forget about Skywarp, but I imagine he's a similar case...

EDIT: Yeah, look, here's Brawn punching Starscream in #16, and he's in the ongoing Seeker design:

The next big event for toy news will be Toy Fair 2015, though considering we've already seen about half of the Generations product for 2015, there may not actually be that many new reveals there.

So is this the third Leader figure for the Generations line? Or is there still an all-new mold to be revealed next year?

Plus there's the whole he's not really with the Decepticons anymore thing. Then again, neither is Starscream.

Anyways, Thundercracker is Leader class because that's how big he is. In the comics, he's a big dude. Most of the toys right now are based on the comics (non-RiD toys anyways). So deal. :p

This is the fourth actually. We've got Jetfire, G1 Megatron, Armada Megatron, and now Thundercracker.

Haha fair enough :p  but I remember someone mentioning three leader molds somewhere. Is that right? If so that means we technically have 2 more Leaders coming out next year

^ Sounds like a rumor. Maybe because the first three movies all got three Leader molds?

I'll get Huffer, though I hope they announce Brawn soon and I still can't find Tailgate or Gears
